TLDR:
Although he did have some points about the state of police in the US. Its completely overshadowed by the "cop bad, white man bad," narrative he was going for from the contradictory statements to the doomer - lefty bias. The game's still fun for me and my group of friends. The dev team has released some teasers about the next update. AI is being worked on (thank God, the SWAT AI still has a tendency to ineffectually shout at suspects who are currently gunning them down and refusing to retaliate), the School level is still in, PVP will come at a much later date, and we're probably going to end up raiding a live-streamer by the looks of things. The HQ and Car Dealership is going to be completely redone as well.

Then states that, "the judgement system is not built to enforce laws or justice". The lefty bias and flip flopping was really starting to kill me at this point.

For claiming to want subtlety and nuance, there's really not much subtlety or nuance to the opinion. "All cops are bad, there's no good in the system, the system is completely arbitrary." There are bad cops, there are flaws in the system, there are outside issues that end up resulting in negative patters of policing. But wanting to demolish the entire thing is throwing the baby out with the bathwater, and saying anything that doesn't portray cops as baby-killing racists is "copganda" is just as much unnuanced propaganda as the opposite.

The only expressly political groups in game are right wing, but that's likely because the devs are focused on the CP story line right now (Valley of Dolls, Talent Agency, Mind Jolt), i imagine that won't stay the same by launch

Aside from GLID Gaming, OperatorDrewski still play (I think; last vid about the game was 5 months ago), and they are more laid back about it. As for GLID, the reason they yell at NPCs is because they are actually roleplaying as real operators, so their radio chatter and dialogue is meant to be as realistic as possible to emulate a real life tactical situation. Their whole schtick is that the guys playing are real ex-soldiers and SWAT operators, so they do things as they were trained to do it in real life.

The "cops mowing down civilians" is a common left wing fantasy that has no basis in reality. The closest they get is people that may have been hurt because they were marching arm-in-arm with "mostly peaceful" rioters.

For anyone curious, Devs still seem to be on track for a 2023 1.0 release, with the most recent dev log showing off a tiny bit of the SWAT AI overhaul, along side the campaign. Also the school shooting level will be in game, it goes by "Campus" and I am making the bet now it will take inspiration from VA Tech.
