I'll admit that i only have a very vague knowledge of Petersons stchick but isn't it just basically telling people to grow a set and actually take control of their lives if they want to be successful?

Essentially, basic "how to be an actual person" stuff that redditors would run screaming from because it removes their perpetual victim status.

He is really more like "Do what I say and not what I do" kind of boomer recently. Maybe before he was like that before he spiralled into benzo abuse.

Seems a bit like an american thing to throw kids out immediately after they turn 18, however completing your education and going to university is expected by default in my country, so there's that.

Regardless, encouraging NEETing is rather dumb.

Part of his shtick lately also seems to involve being associated with pictures of men getting jerked off in BDSM masturbation machines.

I mean, sure, it's only happened twice, which is (probably?) tame by lolcow standards. But this dude is a proper credentialed academic with a fancy degree and a full CV of peer-reviewed publications and all that shit. It shouldn't be happening once.

Didn't hear about those instances when did they happen and how involved are we talking about? I guess I don't mind Peterson in that despite his basic advice like "cleaning your room". Considering the clown world we live in currently that advice is appreciated in my opinion.

You're right. Kicking kids to the curb is only really popular in the USA.

It's kinda funny that this idea that 18 year olds needs to get up and go to school and do something ASAP or get kicked out perpetuates here, considering this country is the one where school costs the most by an insane margin.

Going to college isn't realistic unless your parents have the dough to let you leech and pay for it, or you're cool with raping yourself with student debt. Good luck getting a car or anything like that with this debt btw

In my experience this is a dying trend that tends to only happen to deadbeat kids nowadays
 
The whole "you need to move out at 18 on the dot and get a degree" comes off as a boomer meme and a grift to me. I get the point of making sure kids grow up into adults but having witnessed the consequences on the housing market and education prices and loans it seems more likely it was pushed by bankers, media and elites as a way to poomp the numbers and grow GDP by encouraging consooming on a massive scale. There is nothing wrong with staying with your parents a while longer if you grow up and help with the house and all, this idea you either leave or are a complete deadbeat neet seem absurd. Didn't happen in Europe, nor did it happen in most of the planet. Still doesn't.

Dunno maybe I am reading too much into it.

Asian families tend to live in the same household even after they get a job and get married. The moment they have more kids is when they actually move out. I will never understand the idea of moving out thousands of miles away with no support for no reason aside from "muh career". I say there is no reason to do so unless you're in the military imo.
 
In a country like mine where families own two or three storey houses and the family unit is still strong, it's not uncommon for older kids to take a storey for themselves and their own partners/families. It certainly beats living in a small rented apartment, especially if you've got kids on the way and bills to pay. The parents are going to pass away at some point anyway, so the house might as well stay in familiar hands.

Also, for a group of people who love to bloviate about “muh mental health!” there is no consideration for how someone might feel having the store they put love and effort into being trashed and looted by their very own community. Even if the store is 100% insured and is magically fixed to it’s prior state I think the owner would be pretty fucked up mentally.

The Redditor obsession with mental health is just a way to excuse their own shitty actions, avoid consequences, and virtue signal. They are just narcissistic sociopaths, not people who genuinely empathize with others.

Either that or that horrible one with the overflowing toilet in the Morrison's at the Gyle shopping centre at the edge of town.
Yes, I know that "public toilet" means any toilet in a pub you can duck into but I was thinking late-night stuff and wrote all this out before I remembered.

Redditors have no sense of community and the idea that something is meaningful because you put care and effort in is completely lost on them. I do believe you are correct though, mental health sperging only exists to alleviate themselves and those they agree with of any wrong doing or negative consequences of acting like a complete retard.
