iOS automatically turns a double-dash into an em-dash, so it's most likely a sign of an iphoneposter rather than a bot. Not that there's much difference.

Also, I feel compelled to defend Manchester from comparisons to *spit* Birmingham. It's not that bad.

I am now really splitting hairs here, but a double dash/hyphen usually resolves to an EN dash which is very slightly different than an EM dash. EM tends to need a hotkey keystroke combo. I haven't looked at the source to confirm whether they are EN or EM dashes and frankly I wouldn't recommend anyone spend the time doing that from a forensic perspective. In fact maybe I should just delete this post, lol. No, I'm gonna go for it. Maybe it's interesting to someone.

Also, are em-dashes (—) common to write?
Depends on the context. They can be in literature and serious publications, because a double hyphen is a kick in the eyes and not a substitute. It's also pretty common to see in some forums online with pretentious people that mastered remembering its ALT code (0151) and want to show off. But it's something LLMs picked up and abuse (even if sometimes it's better at punctuation than most people), and is an obvious hint a post may not be written by a real person in part or full.
The point of sharing this is to highlight how actions that might seem harmless or funny to some can leave others feeling exposed, embarrassed, and fearful—especially young women who are just trying to go about their day.
No one should feel unsafe eating lunch alone. We need to be more mindful of how our actions affect those around us. I hope this post can raise awareness and encourage more respect and empathy, both online and in real life.
Nobody writes this shit seriously outside school to pad their assignments. But those models really like to spew that gibberish.

I'm going to spit them ever finer. On iOS, as I mentioned, when you write word--word you get word—word with an em-dash, but if you write word -- word (note the spaces) you get word–word with an en-dash. You can find people searching for how to turn off the auto-punctuation em-dash feature to this very day.

I've not noticed this so good to know. I am wondering if Reddit's markdown converts the double dash -- to an em/en-dash as well. I tend to be a bit hasty and see AI everywhere because I've met far too many people who are too lazy to write stuff out themselves any more.

On my Android phone (Samsung, more specifically), I can just long-click on the hyphen key to type en-dashes and em-dashes instead of hyphens. You do have to go out of your way to long-click, so I'm pretty sure it doesn't happen automatically, but the option is still there and pretty easy to use if you actually know about it. There's also the option to add up to 10 custom characters on the period long-click, and you can choose to add en-dashes and em-dashes there, too.

The OP and his girlfriend have probably not realised that the reason they feel on edge isn't because of random TikTokkers but Manchester itself. Also raising awareness? This post was literally just clout/sympathy farming, it will have 0 effect on anyone doing these kind of TikToks.
Manchester is not unique in this trend. It has become very common for people to think public spaces are stages for them to record tik tok content. They will get angry with you if you suggest not putting the camera in your face and that you do not consent to being part of their tik tok show. The later is important because we're seeing a return of prank style videos where tik tokers will do things to annoy or harass random people so they can upload their reactions to tik tok.

Large men slamming stuff into your table to startle you and upload it to the internet is unacceptable behaviour and should be criminalized. Any one would be very concerned about their safety if a large dude showed signs he was angry with you when you had done nothing but eat your lunch. He's acting aggressive and I'm guessing he was probably dark skinned from the way Reddit doesn't list him as white the way they always do. And you're not taking into account mental health issues. People with PTSD having a huge guy come up and act aggressively while making a loud noise to shock them is going to trigger an episode. It's a reasonable expectation to expect not to have strangers try to startle you when you're sitting in a public place.

If the UK wasn't such a dystopian nightmare Tik tok would be banned and any sort of social media pranking would be made illegal. If you do not have written permission to film and feature people like television requires for pranks then you shouldn't be allowed to upload it. I don't want teenage girls harassing me for social media asspats and I don't want grown men scaring women for internet asspats. The harsher you punish the shit the better.

Got a quickie today that sums up Reddit as succinctly as I could have ever hoped.

NEET kills rich father. Someone asks a question about the case. The correct answer gets some uptokes. Snarky, irrelevant one-liner gets three times the votes and gets that orange highlight thing, whatever that is.

"Affluenza" was never part of his defense, but far be it from a redditor to interpret reality as something other than a cartoonish parody of how things actually are. He's rich, therefore affluenza. Beep boop.
This snarky 'quip' culture cancer is by far the worst thing to come out of R*ddit & social media as a whole. You might think it is contained there, but think again. I've seen college aged people squirt these turds out in the middle of class, to professors, out loud. Baffles me how they don't find it embarrassing. I'd rather pound sand into the eye of my dick than say something so childish in front of other people.

Reddit lies spotted more insanity. Spoiler: Sanctimonious mod got banned.

The mods of r/SpringfieldIL are now banning all Trump supporters from the subreddit.

Oh look, that moderator was caught doxxing people over “hate speech” and then threatening their families.

There's a whole lot I could say about this post, but
"Supporting the current democratically elected president is anti democracy"
I don't understand how these people can say that with a straight face

It will begin with banning all self-described MAGA sympathizers, then you'll be asked to fill a questionaire to pledge your loyalty to neo-lgbtqa++ communism before being allowed to post in subreddits, lest you be one of those silent racists. Keep killing the site, please.

Can you stop posting out of context screenshots that only make sense when you're either autistic and/or pedophilic enough to deeply care about weeaboo shit? I'm sure the specifics of whatever's being discussed there - which I neither comprehend nor desire to do so - is totally cringe to a real anime pro, but you gotta understand, all of this shit is in general cringe to everybody else.
It's about Joshua from Final fantasy 16. He's the sick prince troupe and they think it makes him a faggot. It's got nothing to do with anime and wasn't hard to figure out.

That retard should just be threadbanned, or better yet, completely banned, entirely. His entire post history is just posting tweets and videos from somewhere else. He is a shill, not a person.

Just noticed something maybe fascinating. I cannot sort comments normally (i.e., sort by controversial) while browing /r/letgirlshavefun. I tested it across 2 devices and had an issue both times.

/r/letgirlshavefun is the main hive of gooner autogynophile troon males who think being a woman is getting triple dicked like in their japanese anime pornos. There are literally no women there.

Can anyone else confirm this? Are they beta testers of a new comment system where officially nobody is allowed to say anything that doesn't get mega upvoted by faggots?

Works fine for me using old.reddit.com/r/letgirlshavefun

>says it wasn't hard to figure out that it's about FF16
>it's actually about The World Ends With You, which makes it gayer than anime
>imagine being this wrong right out of the gate
