I can imagine it. There's a place for people like that, it's called reddit.

Honestly I think their target may have skewed their results. Reddit is a place explicitly designed to reward groupthink, consensus, popularity, and similar unthinking, follower behavior. With the tranny janny takeovers, anyone who bucks the community consensus is very likely to be banned, creating a further selection effect.

Whether on purpose or by accident, these researchers went after the target group most likely to be persuaded by anonymous, popularized propaganda.

I asked a fairly simple DIY/physics question on the DIY sub, got told to fuck off because it was a physics question, posted it on a physics sub got told to fuck off because it's a DIY question. Posted it on some other DIY sub, first three replies didn't even fucking read the question and acted like typical redditors when I tried to explain the shit I'd already explained. I don't have a grandad to ask because he's fucking dead but if I swirled his ashes around in the bottom of a cup of tea it'd give better advice. Then stuck the exact same post in chatgpt gives me exactly what I wanted instantly. Reddit was only ever good for niche questions if you could put up with smarmy cunts but now I simply don't need to put up with them anymore.

it's slowly being replaced by chatgpt/grok because they can quickly dig around the answers for your question in plebbit without having to deal with the retardation that comes with it.
real funny, the problem is that these models usually get lobotomized and have their ability to answer capped towards certain topics.
 
I do have a similar story. There was a boomer tranny at my job that would always talk about how large their man boobs were growing in the breakroom often while two at the time pregnant coworkers were there talking about becoming mothers. They always would awkwardly laugh it of and then say they have to get back to work. Thankfully they don't work here anymore. Never reported them to HR because one I'm not a rat and two at the time I felt bad for them because they were divorced/alone and in late 60s working barely above minimum wage. Sad existence.

It's funny that redditors are the exact kind of people to think the "you didn't even say pwease" meme is really funny, because it's totally dunking on JD Vance crying like a little bitch that the chad Zelensky didn't obey his every whim.
And yet, they also get upset that some researchers use a LLM to test human resilience to machines changing their mind on various topics - all, essentially, without saying "please" by getting consent beforehand. It is very funny.

The few times I’ve had the misfortune of ending up on reddit, it quickly became apparent to me that the place was flooded with bots and shills, especially on anything relating to politics. The fact that so many Redditors are pissed about being manipulated this way just goes to show that they’re nowhere as intelligent as they think. In fact, I’d say that this is just further proof that the average Redditor is a mouth breathing retard. But what would you expect from a bunch of unironic communists who believe in 400 genders.

All this talk about vibe coding but I haven't been able to get an LLM to make any coherent code that will run as-is, I always have to review it and fix shit. My guess is everybody is lying to drive the hype up or its just normies doing hello world-tier crap so of course even an LLM can't screw that up.
 
I remember a guy named Shawn Hopkins who used to be addicted to reddit. Had thousands of posts about atheism and arguing about how illogical faith is. Posting a lot about comics too and bragged about his collection. Claimed he was an important journalist but guy was in his late 40s and lived in a shithole trailer in nowhere Kentucky. Toward the end he started wailing about being lonely cause he constantly got stood up by the fat single moms he begged to go on dates with him.

Dunno if he killed himself or what. Bleak guy.

The vast majority of the site consists of pseudointellectual retards mindlessly regurgitating things that were posted by another retarded Redditor that they agree politically with, regardless of how much of a basis it has in reality.

Combine that with a sizable cabal of troon jannies operating with the backing of some Reddit staff to control vast swathes of the site then it's no surprise that practically every major sub is just sanitized shitlib retardation.

For all they like to shit on stupid boomers watching Fox News they are no different, they will happily just consume absolute slop that flies in the face of reality if it aligns with their views.
 
Have these people ever considered that any time they go out in public, use the internet, or buy a product they are potentially participating in an experiment without their knowledge?

Store changed their layout? Corporation wants to see what other crap you'll buy if they put they put the electronics section in between groceries and housewares.

Politician opens their mouth? They want to know what policies resonate with voters.

Watch a video? Uploader wants to know what kind of content gets the most views.

Honk at a "HONK IF YOU LOVE HENTAI" bumper sticker? Autistic driver wants to know how many other pedophiles are on the road.

But, somehow, it's "unethical" when you point out how stupid the average person actually is.

I stopped using Reddit two months ago and immediately noticed an improvement in the quality of my life.
