Tumblr was less of a containment zone and more of a kodoku where they'd put a bunch of terrible ideas in a jar and make them fight each other until one survived. Most of the shit you see online now that's been completely normalized originated from Tumblr, even if ideas like "gender fluid" or "demisexual" had to be sacrificed in favor of them. Every gender having it's own flag was a Tumblr creation that was more evolutionary fit than the idea of gender fluidity.
I have good news about people like that, because of body cams, cops are going back to "asshole tax" when someone acts like that.

Yeah and that's what is hilarious to me is because they used to write these reports up to the letter. "Suspect was acting belligerently, suspect was screaming less than a foot away from my face, suspect was acting aggressively after being told several times to please calm down" and NOBODY believed the cops, because it sounded so unbelievable.

I've been on many forums over the years and i have never seen such chill moderation, with jannies also actively participating in many threads instead of some gay mod circle jerk bullshit anywhere before. If they did, they wouldn't be Reddit mods. They'd be outside pushing people around to feel powerful, calling the city about the height of your hedges and other stupid shit. The fake power of being a Reddit mod is appealing to people specifically because they have none in their real lives.
The only reason it's so bad is because of how heavily it's moderated. The mods work overtime (for free, by the way) to make normal people feel like outcasts and to make the most mentally ill depressed and feminine seem like the rational majority. If there was significantly less moderation the conversations and information would be better and possibly actually good.
