If you need an example of how the business world robs everybody of a soul...I actually don't doubt Pao's sincerity, she probably was freaked out by having to be in a room with this person. But "networking" was more important to her then not going to this shit. and everybody in the room and the organizers all had the same thought process. In any circle with rich, powerful, people there's this understanding that morality is always going to take a back seat to money and influence. In these circles you can be a massive piece of shit, but everybody will overlook it so long as you're a piece of shit who offers somebody something they can use. And this is considered normal in America.
