Report: EA Is Remastering The ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy At Long Last (Unconfirmed)

even with the flaws, they still managed to make an enjoyable game - for the most part- with enough going on to distract you, like a good magic trick.
and when it came out there weren't that many space operas of that scope (and the potential it had is part of the nostalgia), still aren't really.

hindsight is always 20/20.
I'm curious about a ME1 remaster. Its probably the one to benefit most from a rethink and probably the most subject to change. I need to know more.

Sounds like we can get a repeat of Andromeda's bad animation problems which frankly I'm for

>due to covid and wanting to spruce up ME1
I mean fair enough, ME1 probably needed the most work anyway in terms of graphics and the gameplay needs some tightening up.

>ME3 multi not included
I don't care for multiplayer myself, but given that it's the only thing people still like about ME3, this seems like a huge mistake.

>will include all the DLC across all three games
Does that include Pinnacle Station I wonder? That one DLC nobody liked and isn't available on anything besides the 360 release?

>it's being done by Bioware
Yeah there's no hope for this.

Will point out that ME1 used a very altered form of the Unreal engine compared to the latter two games, making it both incompatible with most toolsets and the hardest for people to mod. That also means the hardest to update since they need to adapt all the work there for a different UE engine. As to BioWare doing this... I don't mind too much so long as someone from EA is staring over their shoulders 24/7 to enforce if not best practices, at least good practices. They have or had talent, but it was all mismanaged to hell and back, and we all know the news stories of how that happened. Having a guy around with a (metaphorically) loaded pistol to euthanize any terrible ideas (including BioWare itself if need be) is mandatory, and I hope EA knows that given how public all of BioWare's fuck-ups have been.

I wonder if they're going to remove the multiplayer component of the war score then. It would be very unfair to handicap players based off of a mechanic they can't access.

I thought they ended up doing this, or at least lowering the scores enough that multiplayer didn't matter, when they released the Extended Cut.

Even then, I believe that if you carried over from the start you could still get enough score for the best endings even before that. I know I was able to get the best endings and I didn't play the multiplayer. Since this would be a bundle with all the games maybe that would negate the MP being absent?

I'm still pretty sure it was rescored after Extended Cut though.

It was re-scored; in the original version, you had to get a military strength score of 4000, which wasn't possible even if you got absolutely everything in the campaign. You could only get that score if you did the multiplayer. The Extended Cut meanwhile lowered it to 3000, which is more doable, especially if you have the DLC. Really, the only issue at that point was if you didn't have the DLC, which made getting to that 3000 threshold a little tight, but that's a non-issue here given that the DLC will be included.

I love how schizophrenic Mass Effect 3 is. The writers would be the first to decry the male gaze and still court it with big tit reporters and aliens. Honestly, I think it has a great multiplayer mode, but the single player feels like someone juggling way too many balls.

So they're working on Anthem 2.0, Dragon Age Cisquisition 2, Mass Effect 5 AND a remaster of the ME trilogy? :story:

anthem is bioware austin (that's why it stopped being a trainwreck), DA CIS 2 is edmonton, pretty sure ME5 is ded or early pre-production (so ded for good when bioware gets shitcanned) and the remaster either outsourced or done by some contractors, similar how "gearbox" did aliens.

That's because the writers are gigantic faggots.

I just learned that at the beginning of 2 Shepard was supposed to be saved by the Geth. Now things start to make sense like Legion having Shepard's old armor, Legion having dialogue in disk 1 sections and why Jacob feels so underdeveloped in comparison to the rest of the cast: Legion was supposed to be a starting party member but got switched for Jacob

That's a cooler idea. It would also get rid of most of the dumber Cerberus shit.

3 was originally released in 2012, juuuuust on the cusp before fanservice suddenly became real taboo.

This is in fact my main worry about the remaster is are they going to tone down all the female bodies? In particular Miranda? I like to believe SJWs aren't that damn tight assed but we know that they are.

I hope it turns out well but I'm skeptical. Bioware is in such a shit state these days that they can't even release a single game that isn't a complete trainwreck. But now they're allegedly working on this, Anthem 2.0 (lol), the next Dragon Age, and a new Mass Effect sequel all at the same time?

Yeah, sounds like a recipe for disaster and I wouldn't be surprised if it launches like the Master Chief Collection (IE, a raging dumpster fire). But we'll see. If that happens though and Bioware still doesn't get shut down, I'll be convinced they must have naughty pics of EA higher-ups or something.

Damn, I'm actually kind of excited for this to happen. ME1 defnitely needs and deserves the remaster treatment. I might have to install my PC copy and do a replay.

I think I might be the only sperg who enjoyed the Mako driving in the game.
