So... what do people want for RE9?

What gameplay style? 7-8 first person? REmake 2-3 style? Something else?

Protagonist? Someone returning, or someone new?

Enemies? Zombies? Mold? Werewolves? Something else?

What kind of location/s?

Do you want them to continue off any current plotlines, or start a new one?

Third person, with Chris investigating the fuckery the BSAA was getting into at the end of 8.

Kick out all the jambs and do a Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Parasite Eve crossover.

May as well just go fuck-all out.

Edit: And Dino Crisis. Throw that in too because we already had Leon and Not-Claire fight a B.O.W. T-Rex, so zombie-demon, mitochondria powered raptors aren't that out there.

I want the fixed camera angles and optional tank controls, but at this point I'd just take the over the shoulder RE4 style again. First person is the last way I want to play.

I'd honestly like a reboot, even if it changes things up like a reimagining. It doesn't need to take place in the mansion or anything but a return to simple zombies and horror would be refreshing.

I didn't used to like tank controls, but after seeing what you could do with them I warmed up to the concept. With a fixed camera you can get raped by scares the way developers wanted you to be scared by them. You can get great cinematic shots like in SH1, or the atmosphere of 2 or 3. Could Fatal Frame have its tension without tank controls? Would the Resi REmake be as scary with a 3rd person camera? Probably not.

I actually want them to keep moving forward with the first person. It seems to take them a few games to perfect a particular camera style, and just like they knocked the whole fixed camera angles setup out of the park with REmake, I think they are actually close to perfecting the first person setup they started with RE7.

I would like them to return back to fighting zombies. Since RE7 was basically a remake of RE1, and RE8 was basically a reimagining of RE4, I would like RE9 be a basic remake of RE2 and RE3; a large modern city to play around in, traditional zombies to play around with, with other BOWs thrown in to spice things up.

We probably won't see anymore over the shoulder camera games in mainline Resident Evil titles. In spinoffs, like that RE4 remake that's in development, maybe, but there is no reason to go back to third person over first person when first person works fine.

And I think its about time RE fans get over tank controls; just like Super Mario isn't going back to being a 2D sidescroller, Resident Evil isn't going back to fixed camera angles and tank controls. The games are moving forward, not backward.

I just want a full co-oppable game as a UBCS or USF just trying to survive in the city. Basically a whole game out of the Hunk mini games but as someone else.

I want RE9 to go in the direction of Donna or Lady D, either a sprawling castle or something like the Spencer mansion, but in first person, maybe something like the Winchester mystery house, a mansion designed by a madman.

Have it be infected by some kind of nerve agent that makes you trip balls, if RE7 was cannibal rednecks and RE8 was werewolves/vampires, have the primary threat of RE9 be a biological equivalent to ghosts, ie hallucinations where you don't know what's real and what isn't, as the scariest part of RE8 was Donna's house.

Or alternatively they could crib even more from Haunting Ground and have it be in a castle built by a madman, maybe freakish homunculus lurk the halls....

Whatever they do they need to stick with the dark, gothic, old and spooky locales vibe.

This is the most obvious direction to go in with RE9 and no offense, but I hope they do something a lot more creative than that.

The thunder would be stolen by RE2 remake and RE3 remakes already showing us a city in chaos in the RE engine.

RE3 was a disappointment and a cash grab. RE2 never really let you explore the city. It be nice to have a game that really let you explore a destroyed city.

2 Remake did really skimp on the city streets, but we saw plenty of city street scenes in RE3 Remake.

Looking at the series as a whole, including the Outbreak games, we've been on city streets many times, RE9 going that route would feel very "been there, done that"

Meanwhile we've only seen castles in RE4 and RE8, heck the only mansion focused game was the original and REmake 1 (and I guess the brief DLC in RE5), a Spencer mansion esque locale would be fresher than yet another city in chaos.

We saw like two blocks in RE3 Remake.

The Outbreak games are like, almost twenty years ago now (man I feel old).

You are also forgetting RE0 and every game that's featured a return to the Spencer mansion since then. And RE7, while not set in that particular mansion or a copy of it, was set entirely inside a single residential property, just like games featuring the mansion.

I want a total reboot back to the first game and none of the SJW faggy shit mixed in like they did with RE3 remake. Jill was a a stupid cunt in that game and all the male characters existed to sacrifice themselves so she wouldn't die. Carlos never shutting up about how amazing she was got real painful quick.

Capcom needs to stop neutering their shit for the west cause this is all turning into cuck shit.

RE needs to be rebooted, they keep fucking shit up to the point nothing anyone does matters because next week some other retard is gonna play bond villain with a virus and nothing ever changes. Least the first chunk of games had a focus on stopping an evil corporation that was actually developed into something actually threatening because they'd been doing this shit forever.

About that REverse, is it out or cancelled yet? Anyone know anything? I'm not interested in the game but it's been like a full year of Capcom fumbling the football down the field.
Last I heard it was getting age ratings/certifications, so apparently it's at least still in some state of development.

So a Code Veronica remake?
Eh I probably lean more towards RE4 style personally.

Also controversial opinion. As someone who saw all the RE movies, I dont think the new netflix movie looks that bad or cheap. Looks fun in all honesty.
