I was really hoping it was gonna be Spencer castle and not Las Plagas again, but I should have known since the vast majority of gamers would go "WTF?" if it wasn't MISTAR KENNEDY ON HIS WAY TO RESCUE THE PRESIDENT'S DAUGHTER'S BALLISTICS.

Unless that would be some DLC thing, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm excited but I hope it's significantly expanded and changed and not just the 2005 game with better graphics.

Still, TWENTY YEARS LATER and I still want that fucking Spencer castle game lmao.

I think claiming they're removing the camp, especially after the last few RE games they put out maintained it despite the more realistic graphics, is jumping the gun. It's not like RE4 was visually campy, it was as grungy and drab as silent hill was, the camp was in the characters and how the enemies acted which really isn't in the trailer at all.

Can't wait for Aussie Merchant in HD
GOT SOME RARE THINGS ON SALE, STRANGAH!

NOT ENUFF CASH!

AHHHHH, I'LL BUY IT AT A HIIIIIGH PRICE!

Think they might actually throw in some story seeds for where RE9 might be going? Since RE8 implies the Duke knows the Merchant and the Duke is implied to be part of some sort of secret society, maybe there'll be a secret room we can discover hinting at what that group is in one of the Merchant's shops.

In addition to that, maybe they'll retcon the Los Illuminados to be a branch of whatever secret society the Umbrella logo is implied to originate with in RE8, maybe Salazar will actually turn out to be acquittances with Spencer, they need to add something to tie RE4 more into the overall lore instead of being what amounts to a side story.

The fact that it's coming out two years after 8 gives me a bit of hope that it won't end up like RE3make which came out only a year after RE2make, which if it had been given an extra year it would have been great since it wouldn't have ended up cutting a ton of the game. Also interested to see just how many ideas they end up taking from the scrapped versions of RE4, thought RE2make taking a couple notes from RE 1.5 was a nice touch.

If we're going hard on the ride to Stupid Town hopped up on crazy pills, LET'S ROCK BABY!

Let's stop going on the current RE9 script and rework everything as Chris Redfield going on a DOOM Eternal-sque killing spree adventure and going on a bolder punching rampage on bosses by punching them hard in the face.

In the 2nd animated RE film, Ada reminded Leon about a night they had. They definitely did it. But yeah, RE2 has happened, Leon doesn't need to be this boy scout anymore, RE4 Leon was hard-boiled due to the bullshit of that night & since & it showed.
Remake2 retcons Leon having a girlfriend, he had relationships before, he was just bad at it. Remake2 seems to be biased towards Leon x Claire because I don't see anything genuine going between Ada and Leon (in the original she kisses him out of genuine affection, while in the remake to manipulate him. Funny enough, Kamiya approved of this change). Ever since RE4 they had a batman-catwoman kinda thing going, but RE6 makes it clear they'll never get together despite them obviously having feelings for each other. Not saying remake Leon is a bad character, but I liked him better when he was just a regular everyday kinda guy... And now he has a PTSD or something.

They are still using the same engine as all the recent games right? I think this is just going to be RE2&3 remake with some small tweaks in terms of mechanics. People need to temper their expectations.

We'd all like a good RE4 remake but at this point it's more likely Capcom fumble it in spectacular fashion. Hope for the best but expect mediocrity.

REmake 2 ended with Leon joking about a truck driver giving him the finger being friendly, and talking with Sherry about getting a puppy.

REmake 4 starts with him crying about needing to forget all the pain that night caused and how "this time" it can be different.

Like...nigga you helped save a little girl from the Zombie apocalypse already why you acting like saving another girl is going to make up for that?

RE3make was kind of in an impossible situation, had it come out a year later that would have been too close to RE8, if it was coming out now it'd only be a year before RE4 remake, 2020 is the only time releasing it would make sense but it didn't give the devs enough time.

I wonder if saddler will have a connection to Miranda?
He could have a connection to Miranda and they both could have a connection to whoever built the village.

There's a lot of implied history in RE8 that we don't yet know the details of.

If they do blend in RE8 elements would that confirm that Capcom is treating the remakes as the canon version of events going forward?

So we're never getting Code Veronica Remake, aren't we?
I wouldn't count it out, Capcom is probably going to want to do one more remake and I doubt they'd remake 5.

This is the first time they're remaking a game that was already fully 3D, maybe the experience they learn here can apply to a Code Veronica remake.

Maybe they WILL remake 5 and CV Remake will lead directly into that, having Chris fly off to confront Umbrella and give us a proper showdown to replace Umbrella Chronicles and 5 in this new continuity, maybe the prologue of RE4 Remake will give us hints about this.

Claire is never getting any because Leon has severe yellow fever for Ada.

According to some rumors a while back, Claire is supposed to have a role on this game that was part of the contract for the Infinite Darkness series. Not going to replace that Code Veronica itch but at least it's something if it's true.
