i hope we're still getting real DLC for village and not just VR support. I fucking love that game and was super sad we didn't get anything substantial post launch. RE7 got all sorts of weird shit, i'd fucking love a randomizer for 8 or a joe DLC equivelent.

It probably won't. RE4 isn't like RE3 or even RE2. Its aged like fine wine. There's not much you can do to improve on that classic, and its not as much of technological step behind. Its why its been ported to everything under the sun and continues to sell on everything its been ported to. This remake got to one up that, and I doubt it will. Honestly, Capcom would have done better doing Code Veronica, considering that game's age and the fact that it languished on the Gamecube and Dreamcast, making it a bit more obscure.

What they should of done was do a good job remaking RE3.

I agree, but that obscurity is probably what is holding them off. I'd expect Resident Evil 1 or even 0 to get a remake first. CV will be last, if it gets one.

I agree, but the RE4 is literally the worst choice they could have gone with. The only things they can really do to that without damaging what made RE4 great in the first place (the pacing, the enemy variety, the campy story...) is exchange the tank controls for a more traditional third person shooter setup and up the graphics. But that won't be enough to make it not feel like another retread of a game that was already near perfect.

If they wanted RE1 to get yet another remake, they would've done so already.

I had a realization last night, and it's that they seem keen on only doing modern remakes of the games that DON'T directly have Chris in them for some reason. If that theory ends up holding water, then a remake of 0 would be far more forthcoming than yet another RE1 remake or even Code Veronica.
 
I can dig a darker leon. 4 is really the only one where he's memeing it up. But Id be lying if I said I didnt miss how stupid and not scary the original was. Still intrigued to see how they'll reinvent the wheel.

He memes it up quite a bit in 6 as well, other than the scenes where he's screeching at Chris over the President and letting his yellow fever for Ada consume him.
