It'd just be some cops walking around a mansion looking for chess pieces and cranks and shit occasionally knifing a zombie to conserve their ammo.
I would really like to see a faithful adaption like that. Jill is running around juking zombies like it's no big deal while holding a garbage bag filled with pistol ammo, another bag full of shotgun shells, acid/flame rounds, a grenade launcher strapped to her back and she refuses to use any of it, just in case she needs it. The movie ends with her not being able to lift herself up on the helicopter unless she drops all that sweet, sweet ammo.

I'd sincerely enjoy that. TWD's first season toyed a tiny bit with a type of inventory conservation; Rick found a grenade and held onto it until he needed it later at an important time. I always liked that but it never really happened again.

If they just made a low budget movie of the SD perry book then they can make a decent movie. It does not even need to be good, just not dog shit.

This RE show is like the Mario Bros. movie. Only without the somewhat artistic intent and charm.
That movie was a masterpiece.

Supposed RE9 leaks from a site I've never heard of, sounds like bullshit but it popped up in my newsfeed.

"Finally, you'll be assisted by a female bioweapon called Hulder acting as your guide."
This would be a bit too on the nose though. If they really went all out with that reference it suggests that there is a Mr. X/Nemesis type of character involved. Probably with one eye.

But like I said it sounds like bullshit.

If you're going to do a Resident Evil film with the vibe of the old PS1 games, I'd instead go for the Direct-to-DVD/Blu-Ray market and go for one of the smaller streaming services on Roku like B-Movie TV or possibly Tubi.

Hell, I'd aim for that "Hard" R-rating and go full Roger Corman/Lloyd Kaufman with that shit. I'd make it look and feel like a cheap, sleazy and schlocky Z-grade 90's direct-to-video horror flick that you'd find in some dingy flea market, a little Mom-and-Pop video store or airing in the late night graveyard shift timeslots on some old bygone third-rate premium cable channel back in 1999.

Just ramp up the gore, follow the actual plot of the PS1-era games for once, embrace the camp value and all the edgy 90's schlock in all of its "problematic" and "degenerate" glory.
What I would do is go for a 90s anime OVA or movie vibe, think something like the Street Fighter II anime movie, I believe in addition to the SD Perry adaption there was a Japanese light novel, I'd maybe have that translated and mine it for ideas.

As much as I love REmake I agree going for a more garish B-movie/anime OVA vibe would work better for a film adaption, you better believe whatever actress playing Jill would have to do a gratuitous shower scene to keep with that vibe and yeah, there'd be tons of gore.

There's enough plausible details to sound like it could have come from the planning stage. But Apocalypse is not going to be the final title, they wont risk brand confusion with the movies.

There's a lot of ideas I really like here. Mixing RE with the "Thing" sounds like a winning formula, Especially if a dialogue system was implemented or some way of communication. I love the idea of something terrifying happening mid conversation.

It would be incredible if the natives spoke in a disturbing accent, or were barely understandable like the example above. That would really heighten the paranoia and tension. Bonus points if they implement friendly fire and you have to be very careful of who you shoot for a good ending or two.

Barricading as a central feature sounds plausible, as it was flirted with quite a bit in the opening of 8, although it needed more work.

Im hoping they better balance the Mr X type character. I want something that inspires a fuck ton of fear and dread, but doesn't get immediately taken out after the first act like 7 and 8. There may be methods of circumventing or losing it in the woods, but it needs to be something that stays a random threat till the half way point at least.

It sounds semi open world, something like Evil within 2 would be perfect.
This would be a bit too on the nose though.

The last game had Heisenberg as a character. At this point, it could be an x-files reference.

So I have finished the Netflix show a few days ago, and ive been too dam busy with work to put together a proper review, but all and all I enjoyed it.

Aside from maybe the first 10- 20 mins of episode 1, the script doesn't feel woke, and the character interactions felt genuine and interesting. Really it's biggest problem is A: it ends on a cliffhanger for a season 2 we probably wont get, and B It's so.... oddly ambitious and over the top at the same time. You'll have moments were the actors are being genuine, acting their hearts out, and then they'll just say some dumbass shit. I loved those lines, as most of the time they came from teenagers and megalomaniacs, but I can see why that would put some people off. And the dialogue is not constant enough for it to be a popcorn fest. Sometimes You'll have 30 mins of a straight faced scene and then someone will say "I fucking love spongebob" or its the other way around. They'll start the ep with a dumbass line and then proceed to become a stright zombie teen/post apocalyptic adult drama for the rest of its run time.

Most of the over the top narmy shit happens in the last 2 episodes, with the clones, blade wesker, and the starship troopers action, but that's all wedged into a story about two sisters losing their innocence and surviving in a shithole future.

The split narrative worked pretty well for keeping things interesting, Basically you have your slow burn origin story of teen angst split between action scenes in the future. I thought they handled it well. It does rob drama somewhat you know certain characters are going to turn evil or die in the future segments before it happens, but I still liked the presentation.

There are a lot of story elements I like. The idea of wesker cloning himself, and then the clone makes a family is ridiculous shit, but they do it well. Lance absolutely kills it, the kids were good actors. The future Jade and young jade matched up so well, I didn't actually realize they were separate actors for a long ass time.

Aside from a viewer not agreeing with the direction, script or presentation, the only truly 'bad" actor would have to be the kid who's Jade's daughter in the future. Wooden as shit. You've got one scene of Jade crying her guts out on the other side of a door, meanwhile her kid looks bored.

The overall alt universe lore is fascinating to me as well

In the past and future Umbrella more or less won. They've cut back on openly making bioweapons and are actually trying to get into the drug market. Although the drugs do contain a tiny amount of T-virus. (Tiny enough that you'd have to take it a couple thousand times to turn into a zombie) The endgoal is making drugs that render the subject highly susceptible to commands and advertisements, although they are still putting some points into BOW development. Presumably all the RE heros are dead or in hiding because Umbrella is a household name and raccoon city still happened. In the future umbrella is on crack when it comes to all their technology and heavy weapons. Not that it really matters when they all get butt fucked by zombies and lickers, but they did make cool holographic displays and drones with bottomless magazines so kuddos to that.

I liked how It had the balls to use Giant T virus infected animals no matter how ridiculous they looked. The crocodile at the end gets special mention. The whole procedure for deploying that thing like nuclear weapon was hilarious from beginning to end.

Overall Id recommend checking out the first 2 or 3 episodes before you decide to hate it. It's not as funny or over the top as the more recent movies, but it does go for broke when it comes to making a (relatively) serious zombie story.

The hulder is a northern european mythical creature that is the warden of a domain, often a forest, and is regularly hunted by Odin(the wild hunt). If they were really going all out on that reference they could have a "hunt" break out now and then and it's all about surviving and riding it out until the inevitable point of a real bossfight. The hulder favoring you is also a very good and maybe building rep with her could be a thing? She is typically described as a beautiful woman, well, mostly woman.

All of the "leaked" details honestly sounds like things taken from The Forest 2, the player gets a weird mutant forest waifu in that one as well.

And at least they cast someone who actually looked like Mario.
It wasn't his only appearance in a video game thing, he also lent his likeness for the king in Dragon Quest 8.

I’ve heard of this and it’s some retarded shit from 4chan. Journalist sites need to stop reporting on this shit. It just clogs it up with a bunch of junk. Anyone could make a post on 4chan or twitter. I say to “leakers”, show me screenshots or footage or get the fuck out.

Im surpised nobody posted this yet.

I cant tell if that's D.C douglas. Nice of them to indulge in the Rebecca/wesker ship. lol

Why do people hate on the Revelations games? I played through Revelations 1 recently and thought it was pretty good, the setting especially was great, I really liked the abandoned cruise ship aesthetic. Its not perfect by any means, the enemy designs were weak in my opinion and the episodic nature was more miss than hit and jumping all over the place broke up the atmosphere. The story was goofy but its an RE game, lets be real, they're all shit.

I unironically think Revelations should have got a bit more time in the oven and been released on consoles as RE6 and the actual RE6 we got should have been shelved.

Now playing through Revelations 2, its alright so far, the characters are cringe and the setting is not as good as the first game but the gameplay is pretty good.

My thoughts exactly on Revelations 1. The sequel sucks, I am not surprised we never got another Revelations game.

A very early area in the first episode traps you in a room where there's blade traps and a bunch of enemies. I suppose the player is expected to use traps against enemies but I couldn't figure it out, they give you no breathing room whatsoever. I quit and never went back.

I have finished the remastered re2, should I buy the new re3 or play the old Re3.
As many fans didn't liked the new one?

Remake RE3 is better thought off as an expansion pack for RE2. If you really liked RE2 Remake then you'll enjoy it. However the game is significantly shorter and its quite expensive for a game with less replayability. I also feel the game underuses Nemesis. He only has a single "open world" scene where he chases you in a open environment, the rest are static boss fights. I'm also extremely disappointed that RE3 remake did not remake the mercenary game mode.

However to the game's credit, I feel it does a lot better job in improving the characterization of many of the characters, such as Carlos, Barry and Nicholai. I never thought I would by sympathetic for Barry.

They also tried to justify the high price of the game with that shit multiplayer game that no one plays, anyone who was going to play it is playing Dead by Daylight.

Compared to the original RE3, the remake cuts out a lot of content and only adds a very short laboratory sequence at the end of the game that is just a minor extension of the lab from RE2 remake. But RE3 and RE3 remake are very different style of games.
