Finally doing another playthrough of 4 Remake and I’m enjoying it a lot more than the first time. I like Leon’s casual outfit but I switched it back to the regular one because I like seeing the long guns on his back and the other pistol in his holster and I like the fingerless Oakley gloves.

Luis’ death is a lot less silly and creepy than in the original, him being killed by Krauser is 100% an upgrade over Sadler’s weird tentacle dick thing.

I treat the two Leons as two different styles of protagonists.
OG is a stereotypical 80’s/90’s/00’s action movie hero who throws out quips left and right and is a total gigachad.
New Leon is a little more serious while still having some one liners and being a bit more emo but not emasculated. I thank Nick Apostolides for forcing Capcom to keep the Bingo line as well as some others. He’s a massive Resident Evil fan to the point where he would cosplay as Leon for interviews and is even a fan of the old Yeti112 videos from back in the day. He’s a true blue Resident Evil fan who fights for the series like how Cavill fought for Witcher.

It’s different from the original, most definitely. But it’s a fun game in its own right and while there are a couple things that are worse than the OG, it fixes a lot of the bad stuff from the OG.

Eh, I still like it and I completely understand why they nerfed it AKA to give the other pistols a chance. I normally just go with the Sentinel 9 cuz of the ammo capacity and the laser. Weird that the Blacktail can’t use the laser when you can clearly see the underail is still there.
 
Im living under a rock, did Capcom stopped being retarded (at least a bit) and removed that anti-cheat/modding malware nonsense from their older games? Surely it didnt do jack and shit in the long run except make the fanbase mad (they make a living off of that).


Also I hate how RE3 remake boy-ish looking Jill has become the norm now, she looked perfectly fine before but now? Urgh.

But then again, why am I acting surprised when Capcom is easily one of the more "westernized" japanese companies...

Capcom hasn't put out a truly excellent game since maybe RE5 I think. Yeah it's got problems but I've dumped so much fucking time into COOP in that.

And what's wrong, goy? You don't like boxy women?

It's actually astounding the amount of retards that think this penis hating giant forehead tranny is "beautiful." It's unequivocally the worst redesign in these demakes which is based on arguably the strongest character design in the series. Her ill fitting dirty pants always makes me think she's got an unwiped ass.

Another small reason to like REmake, the developers clearly went to the GabeN school for gainaxing.
 
I picked up the OG versions of 1, 2, and 3 from GOG earlier this week. I've beaten the first game with Jill and am currently working my way through with Chris.

Some things I've experienced so far with RE1:

- The opening FMV is in color and uncensored.

- Both scenarios are easy and there doesn't seem to be any option to opt for a harder difficulty. I'm a little bewildered here, because I distinctly remembered struggling with the directors cut as a child, and before that, the original long boxed PS1 release that had no auto-aim.

- Knife cancelling still works and is just as game-breaking as having analog movement in the HD versions of REmake and Zero.

- I've gotten my puzzles mixed up with the Remake on multiple occasions. In my Jill playthrough, I was running from one end of the mansion to the other, thinking I needed two seperate pieces of sheet music to solve the Moonlight Sonata puzzle. The solution in the original was to just pick up the item and use it on the piano.

-For some reason I don't need ink ribbons to save as Jill, but it's needed for Chris. Was that always a thing?

I'm currently in the underground cavern with Chris. This is a really dangerous area in the REmake but in the OG, you can stunlock all of the Hunters to death with a knife. Even without the knife, it seems that the game provides enough ammo to kill every enemy.

I'm happy to be able to replay the original again. I don't love it by any stretch of the imagination, but it does give me a greater appreciation for the REmake. It really is the gold standard for how a game should be updated.
 
If the opening is in colour then that should be the so called director's cut game. The OG RE 1 was released twice: first as RE 1 and then later as a so called director's cut version. The director's cut had three modes I think. One is an easy game, one the normal and lastly an advanced game which was the "Director's cut": the game has new riddles and also some other changes. For example one of the plaques you need to advance is cut in half and you need to find both parts. Also in Director's cut Jill has not the same uniform then in the first Re 1.

The saddest part is that when the actual model cosplayed as Jill & did live streams, she looked better than the in-game version. Capcuck literally went out of their way to uglify her.
