RE1 also had a ton of room to move around as well, thats how no damage runs are possible. The parts people really liked in RE7, RE2R, RE4R, and RE9 were those tight corridor areas, even with the different camera systems and enemy AI. It was the massive open combat arenas that didn't work out (scrubs STILL bitch about the water room in 4.) Ironically enough a fixed top down camera makes combat against multiple enemies much less tense (e.g. Onimusha, DMC, and OG God of War)
