The better option for 9 would've been a key input to let us type in the password where you get the bad ending after 1-3 failed attempts. I already immediately thought it'd be hope so it would've been rewarding to let us type it.
That's actually a great idea. I remember when you get to Gideon's private office as Leon, Sherry tells him to "shut it down" and he enters in bullshit to get his security locked down so she can hack into it, so the idea of failed password attempts would have been a good callback to that part.

Believing "official" data is quite funny. But go on, Capcom would never lie.

RE8 you utter retard.

Why would any one pick the psycho woman who has lied to you your entire relationship. And then went psycho and repeatedly tried to kill you. Or the girl who has done everything in her power to help you the entire time you've known her.

One cut your hand off with a chainsaw. The other helped you get a cure for the mold infection.
A married man would see that something is wrong with his wife and want to get her help. That's what "for better and for worse, in sickness and in health" means in wedding vows.
And even ignoring that, Ethan is not a smart man, even if he is a good husband. He'd choose the crazy.

You don't learn about any of that until after that scene on the boat during the flashback when you play as her.

October 11
My ears have been ringing all day and I haven't been able to sleep since the child showed up. It's like Zoe says: There's something strange about the child, and the woman she brought with her.

October 15
I'm seeing things, hearing things, can't stop feeling nauseous. I went to see the doctor in town and he gave me an X-ray. What's happening to me?

October 23
The child gave me a present.

October-
I put the present in the secret room right at the back of the second floor, where nobody will find it.

That arm is a sign of the child's trust. That arm will lead us to happiness.

And anyone who corrupts that happiness... I won't allow them to live.
The diary you find in the old house tells you Mia is involved. That's before the confession video. So you know she's lying to you.

Doesn't apply to bioweapons that cut your hand off.

Ethan doesn't know anything about bioweapons. All he sees is his wife that he assumed has been kidnapped for years and is probably brainwashed.
For. Better. Or. For. Worse.
He has literally just fought his way through multiple bio weapons, with notes spelling out that Mia arrived with the girl, which was the start of all the bio weapon stuff.

He also lives in the RE world. No one is ignorant of Bioweapons since Racoon city. It was public knowledge what happened and caused the collapse of Umbrella. And bio weapon attacks happen over and over in this world.

I haven't touched Requiem all week and decided to use some of the mods that have come out. The mod for more enemies, max money (for upgrades) and full Leon game might be the only way I play it from now on.

Why this didn't get a scenario selector or a real NG+ is really idiotic when NG+ has been a staple since RE4 OG.

the entire impetus of the whole game is Him trying to help Mia out of what is clearly a bad situation, why would he blame her for when the Mold takes hold and she goes nuts? he clearly see's the whole family is under sway.

She cut his hand off at the beginning of the game. He had no fucking clue what a bioweapon was at that point.
The Raccoon City incident was covered up and the reason for it given to the public was a terrorist attack or accidental leak. The only people that believed otherwise were looked at like conspiracy theorists. They were correct, but it wasn't public knowledge.

There's no point arguing over RE lore because it contradicts it's self. The US government confirms bio weapons exist and that's why it nuked the city. But then denies they do. But also articles are written about the events by survivors. But also there was a full cover up. But also Umbrella collapsed because of a trial holding them responsible for the city's destruction due to bio weapons.

RE lore is retarded even by game standards.

At first I thought some reviewers were being too harsh but then I tried NG+ and oh man does the Grace shit ever kill the pacing. It doesn't seem so bad the first time around but it is fucking torture on repeat playthroughs.

pretty realistic actually, If you explained to people all the political and military bullshit thats happened in the last 60 years, they wouldn't even have the framework to understand the shit you are saying, the average person is desperate to live in their comfortable daily cycle and actively rejects or at least is repulsed, by shit like that.

for almost everyone, Politics, global military actions, and the gritty reality of the corpo world and economic bullshit, is completely out of their scope, they treat politics almost entirely like Football, a team sport venture where they mouth the words of some slogans and hot topic issues in a chant for their team.

The U.S. Government probably admitted there were B.O.W.'s in a press release and confirmed Racoon City was lost to them, and people paying attention would be shocked, and in a week would be talking about celebrities and completely forgetting about it, since Racoon City happened over a decade after all this came out, it would only be interesting if all that info came out immediately, and only for so long.

The series has always had games now and again with really bad pacing. Zero and CVX immediately come to mind. But this, is way worse then the both of them combined. Maybe the Grace segments aren't as bad as we feel like they are, but you're cockteased with switching to Leon in the beginning... to only go back to Grace for giant chunks. And when we finally play as Leon for a big chunk, we get the shitty RC section hub looking for detonator parts.

The game really feels like it was phoned in with how inspired most of it is. I'd rather take the same boring streets in RC section, and not have to gather parts and just shoot shit going block by block to the RPD. Leon is way more fun to play as but you're cutting his fucking balls off giving him the worst segments for a giant portion on the 2nd act.

4R was structured incredibly well... but it was already done for them with the original. Remixed or fattened up areas but it was generally the same.

But in this, once you leave the Care Center it's fucking slop. Ark is just another NEST 2.

I didn't think the mini sandbox with the detonator stuff as that bad, except for the section where the zombies are shooting mortars at you, fuck that shit.

Once you know how you can cheese the Orphanage part in like 10 minutes. I'm replaying again trying to do a no health or blood collector run so I can afford the infinite ammo cheat and then do the other challenges. The only part I died at was I'm getting killed by the lickers as Grace and I only have 19 bullets.

I'm so tired of the intelligent zombie already. It's fine with Las Plagas because they're not portrayed as zombies at all. These are rotting, George Romero zombies that are using spears, chainsaws, knives and guns. Fuck off already with this shit.

But even with Las Plagas enemies, I fucking hated them shooting at you with AK47s in RE5. Gay and retarded.

I quite liked that bit once I figured out what was going on. But it broke immersion for buildings to be immune to mortars. The concept was good.

The chainsaw station fight was the worst. It felt so forced and obviously coming. Why not a new bio weapon like an ancient mutated hunter?

Romero's zombies repeated actions in the 2nd film. In land of the dead they use guns.

Romero was using intelligent zombies before RE.

The gas station fight could have been cool but its too easily cheesed by grabbing the chainsaw and just letting zombies funnel through the doorway one by one.
