Could be, but I'm in the minority that the voice in OG RE4 for Ada didn't seem right either.
I guess it's a point where OG Ada sounds TOO excited, and RE4 remakes Ada doesn't sound excited enough.
I haven't played OG4 in ages but I didn't think her voice matched her character model in that either.

Though iirc OG Ada's voice sounded way more "seductive".
While I agree the OG wasn't anything amazing, but neither was any actor in that game. But at least they were instructed by someone during recording that didn't just record flat lines the entire time.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=QxhVHXg0I5oIt's more a problem of every word she speaks sound like she's in pain. This doesn't sound like a human being this sounds like forced bad acting. Her character model doesn't match her voice either and it also might be bad mixing? Something sounds so viscerally off about it the second you hear it.
This is why i use any other language instead of hearing that shitty ass voice. she doesn't sound like even trying at least like FUCK! where did you get your inspiration and most importantly motivation when being on the recording set for this whole character voice lines?!

The only time mods + AI can replace this horrendous whatever she tried to do here:cryblood:

Other than that it's just soulless performance and sadly she may
FUCKING NOT PLEASE, NO NEPO HIRE HER TO BE ADA NEVER AGAIN FUCKING AWFUL WOMAN
be included in future RE stuff, if RE6R ever happens it's going to be the 2nd worst performance ever done in a RE game.

The hate on Jill isn't at all undeserved, but it's still forced as fuck. She wasn't a good character, but the people bitching about her are only bitching to bitch.

I never got the feeling she was being cold to him. It always seemed like flirtation to me. Her monotone voice was on purpose to portray her as a stoic "I'm only in it for the money" idea, until the end when she betrays Wesker.
I can see how it doesn't land for some, but a lot of it is just people reaching for an excuse to hate it.
Ballwashes the newer entries, copes about the older ones by introducing problems that don't exist. Classic crapcum subhuman stockholm syndrome.
No, voice acting in RE4 compared to RE4R, especially in the case of Ada, is night and day difference. They fucked pretty much everything up in that demake, that includes voice acting(and audio in general), you just have shit taste and no concept of what you're talking about. The only positive thing you can say about RE4R is that it isn't RE3R.
Also, imagine still trying to cover up for that game, when even the general consensus from other crapcum fans is that the game flopped. That would be like Bethesda fans still trying to cope that Fallout 76 or Starfield weren't "all that bad actually, just overhated". Play a new franchise, develop an actual taste and standard for games.

I'm pretty sure the only reason they hired her was because the voice actor was asian, that's it. No talent required. Shows you how well that worked, lmfao.
I definitely wouldn't describe her as a human being after the seething and coping she pulled after being called out for her awful performance, she got all the hate she deserved.

I bought RE9 and I wanna give a late review of this game, especially how fudged and mishandled the starting of the game and grace section is.

The hospital could be much more than two halls with just few rooms and three puzzle boxes where the answer to the two is given to you on the face and bosses in the game with the singers and cook being somewhat cool, where you as some 5ft girl having to deal with a behemoth with a cleaver and singing zombies that can hit you with a shriek, the baby chunk type zombie is just meeh...it is also worse that the game allows u to insta kill almost everyone with an injector and they also missed a great opportunity to use system shock 2 mechanics of you researching your enemy to get more damage but instead we get a simple puzzle and unlock crafting more item..

I liked the backtracking but was so disappointed that they copied the last plagas late stage virus mutation where the enemies that now get up with head which looks straight up from chainsaw man bomb devil. They should just be up as normal bullets cannot explode enemies head and should have been a mechanic where Grace curbstomp zombies or a mechanic that use nearby objects to do the job.

Next grace segments like the courtyard hidden science lab is just a quick action scene that felt incredibly satisfying, like the game allows grace to be a badass, but I felt there was no noticable improvement we see in Grace, or some of leon personality rubbing on her. The cast of female RE is are often self confident and brave in front of heaviest adversities even when they interact with it for the first time, so Grace could have been much more brave but I guess it is what it is.

I will talk about more

She does that in 4 too.

Also it's not even a little ambiguous if she died in both versions she assists the B route with a gun.
It's been a hot minute since I played the original RE2, but I seem to recall that if you go back to the spot she died at she'll be gone and if you examine it Leon will ask where did she go?

going back through the catalog, a lot of the VA's voices were strange for the game. Like they were given a script but no direction, like the didn't know the genre of game they were speaking for.
What was the point of Zeno? What even was he?
Memberberries for Wesker.
I did enjoy Zeno's facial expressions at the end of the game. Very expressive, I'd lament his loss but as it was said, he was an "imitation". Gonna take a guess and say maybe they'll use a Wesker clone to do a "remake" of RE5. Which is lame and gay, RE5 was a perfectly suitable game in the series and they don't need to dick around with it to remake it. And they'll never have a Wesker as cool as RE5 Wesker. His voice is fucking butter. Even his voice in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor as Rayvis was great.

eta: they don't need to dick around with the story of RE5, but they can fuck with the co op aspect of it

This is what I mean by people bitching just to bitch. I didn't ballwash the newer entries. But you'll pretend I did so you get to complain some more.
Give me one reason why you don't like Jill's character other than "girlboss".
Or just link me to the Synthetic Man video whining about it because I'm guessing you got your opinions from him.

They definitely could have fleshed out more. When I heard the singing from the chick in the bar area I was creeped out and expected a lot more than a generic zombie with a gimic. Like a mini boss fight for the area. They put a lot of make up on ordinary zombies, which I don't hate, I just wish they did more with the ones they decided to add backstories to.

Another thing I noticed was at the very beginning of the game when you unlock the very first door as Grace, there is a window open blowing a white curtain, spooked the shit out of me my first time playing it, I thought they might have added some ghosts which I think might have been a fun touch.

She's a femme fatale she's supposed to. Leon trusts her because she's flirting with him. Imagine if umbrella's spy was a dude like Krauser instead, it wouldn't work.

Finished playing RE9 and it is a great great game, but something feels off.
I don't have this desire of "I must play again so I can unlock ..." instead it is just a "ok thatn was great, but now move on to something else."

And that is fine but for me it's not like OG RE2 that I played more times I can remember, or PS2 RE4.

RE9 just feels like a "very great game but I finished it and don't wan't to replay it." :-(

I liked Ada Wong in the remakes. I don't get the hate on her voice. She sounds like what I'd expect some mercenary-esque woman involved in clandestine operations to sound like.

Now if she WASN'T that kind of character then yeah, her voice would be a bad fit.
The voice actress for Ada in RE2 remake was actually fine, it's Lily Gao, the actress in RE4 Remake, who sounds like she's been lobotomized. The really irritating part is that the lady who did her voice in RE2 remake wasn't cast aside because she did a bad job at it, she couldn't do the character anymore because of the gay "racial reckoning" of 2020 [AKA the George Floyd chimpouts], with a bunch of leftoid agitators getting a bug up their ass about white people voicing non-white characters. Capcom has made it pretty clear that they will absolutely fold to pressure from western leftoids, even though in reality the Japanese devs don't give a flying fuck about any of this shit and likely find it to be retarded.

And thing is, it's not even just the fact that Lily Gao didn't lend any sort of energy or enthusiasm into her portrayal of Ada, it's just shitty VA in general, monotone and deadpan. If they really insist on having an Asian lady voice her, I guarantee you they could have found someone better, but instead of that or just hiring one of the white ladies who did a good job in prior installments, you get the robotic Asian lady who sounds like she's reminding her kids about piano practice or some shit. Then there was more bullshit about "white supremacists harassing her on Instagram!!!" and shit when in reality it was probably just people complaining about her performance in general. If you're going to be a public figure, and you're in a massively anticipated new release, you're probably going to get some criticism on your personal pages - especially if you gave a shit performance. But the Redditoid Capcom fanboy headcanon was that there were literal chud Nazis trying to dox her, rather than just a few assholes going to her personal page to tell her that she sucks.

Yet another example of modern western "sensibilities" [AKA a handful of leftoid 'influencers', content creators and agitators] making an end-product worse for their involvement.

I'm on the fence with this because when I finished it I wanted to replay it but I think the main thing holding me back was the schizo split between campaigns, which kinda all ties back to my main problem with the game in that it should have been one or the other or they had spent time to really develop both properly rather than what we got. I liked what I played but was disappointed that even they couldn't make up their mind about which one they wanted to focus on so neither were really developed to their full potential. It still feels a bit short overall, with some locations feeling halfbaked or too similar to previous ones.

I think I'll go back and try the no crafting and <4hrs runs to get the fun unlocks when I feel like it but currently the game is sitting there on my desktop like the Green Goblin mask. Maybe I'll wait for the DLC or updates.

Because it's a roller coaster. Its fun but there's not much depth and its more spectacle than substance. It's good as a movie, enjoyable experience but you won't get much from replaying it.

I've got a list of complaints or maybe just nitpickings about RE9, I've played through it 5 times, doing the Standard (Classic) difficulty now, so I can get that challenge done and dusted before I do Insanity.
But after you take down Emily after she turns, Grace yells "I wanted to save her! This all my fault! Again!" What does "again" mean? Is she implying she caused Alyssa's death?

My main complaint is the game feels pretty short. I hate spending 60-80 bucks on a game to beat it in a day. That's why I don't bother with Call of Duty titles anymore.

eta: other complaint, does anyone else find Sherry's voice to be really fucking annoying? People give shit to Ada's (RE4Make specifically) voice acting but Sherry's voice for some reason just drives me up a wall.

Discount Wesker, to have a Wesker, because Capcom was retarded and killed the actual Wesker. And big shock, discount Wesker didn't have any stakes to him because we knew nothing about him, he died in his first game, and he didn't have a past with Leon. Hell the fucking Lickers/Mr. X were more compelling because Leon has fought them before, they were a part of his initial trials as a hero.

Just another reason RE5make will never happen. Can't have monkeys chimping. Capcom is much like Konami, Square Enix, Nintendo, and Bandai Namco, very pro-cucking to (((westerners))) for them ESG gibs. Hell Goytendo has intentionally nigger'd all of their franchises over the last 15 years...
And they wonder why people Emulate their games.jpg
Did you know Pokemon supports Le Negroid Diaspora (whatever the fuck that means for a Shin Megami Tensei clone)? Truly the caucasian saviors niggers need in these trying times. Oooh Larry "der Juden" Fink is cumming in his tiny circumcized trousers seeing so many good goys. May China colonize them soon.

People need to stop judging games based on trannies playing it 12 hours a day and start judging it on it's first time experience.
It took you 12 hours to figure out you should press back on the d-pad when the zombie lunges? Most people do that instinctively.
a RE1 Remake (for the 2nd time) has a big flaw, do they add even more Rooms after REmake already did? if they don't it'll be a little too dejavu, they'd have to completely revamp the puzzles and enemy placement or else it'll be fucked.
The Spencer mansion should be the videogame equivalent of the Winchester mystery house. Every RE1 remake should add more rooms until its practically open world.

On PS5 most of her dialogue comes out exclusively through the controller mic. I keep my controller muted (retarded how I have to mute a controller) so it looks like Leon just talks to himself the whole game like a crazy person.

As for R3make Jill, she's fine. She's only really a bitch to the umbrella mercenaries who, y'know, work for fucking umbrella. She was perfectly sweet to Brad and Kendo. I think most people are confusing R3make Jill with Death Island Jill, who has the same design and is 100% a cunt in that movie.

a clone frontman for the ORG, not really a real person, but he thinks he is.
basically the org wouldn't send someone who matters or can be traced back to important real shit, so you send a clone.

Is he actually a clone though? Re4r Wesker has a different model.

It feels very half assed and rushed. More so the backend of it, even more lazy than the last several years of games in the series. I think they were leaning on nostalgia berries heavily since they didn't know what to do after the Care Center and you get five minutes of the RPD and that's after maybe two hours of abandoned building bullshit.

It's overall a better game than 7 and 8, but those games you can feel the money that was dumped into them. This feels like it was slapped together inside of two years or less. For a 30th anniversary game it's pretty ass. It's at best a 7/10 game for full price. It's really fucking short compared to RE4R which was generally a twenty hour game for everyone the first time.
