I miss all the mechanics from 6, gimme slide tackle, free melee, omnidirectional dodges while shooting, counters, back attacks, I want it all. RE9 has a fraction of RE6's kit and the fact that you don't even know which attack will come out before initiating it is annoying.
though luck, people will think that is too wacky and zany that will remove the back to the roots horror trend that started with resident evil village.
no i am not crying fuck you, it's raining.
I wish Capcom would just confirm that Wesker was boning Rebecca but they do that weird Japanese thing where no one is allowed to be an adult with relationships.
do you wonder if wesker was thiking on rebecca as he banged muller's mother? or he looked for one that looked similar to her? worse still, made her hold a photo of rebecca during the act?
Round 2. FIGHT!
hory shiet it's been age restricted, mass fucking reports methinks, lol.

While I agree, I don't think the original should be outright skipped.
I agree with you on this. While I haven’t played and beat the OG RE1 since 2005. Would like to revisit it again in the near future. Since it’s on GOG, I’ll probably end up buying it since the Steam release has awful DRM.

All this talk about RE4 just put me in the mood to replay it (OG of course). So I downloaded the HD project and, yep, still fun. And extra good looking now.

Does anyone here prefer to play with controller even on PC? Im adjusted with both but I wonder if someone prefers the former, maybe it "flows" better on their hands.

Also it seems that Ashley was able to pull off this shit in the NGC version

Tho given how it was removed in other ports, it clearly was an oversight lol

Maybe she remembered for a second she is a Karate fighting Texan squirrel in another life.

They forgot about doors.

Yeah, I'm a PC gamer at heart but if a game is super consolish I'll plug one in. Over-the-shoulder games fall into this pretty categorically; a lot of them are way too fucking easy if you can just click on heads. Plus I like quick turning, I wanna quick turn.

They had to remove it because her panties would be seen even more.

There’s a reported, isolated bug in Requirm where firing a specific revolver caused an OLED TV to force restart itself. Some say it may be because of the amount of power needed from the TV to render the bright flash is too much. Interesting none the less.

Man, I am just reminded just much more memorable the merchant is in the OG than the remake and, believe me, this isnt just another "Remake bad" argument, it is really a case of lacking a personality as distinct.

He is so quotable in the original that if you imitate him, nearly anyone will recognize him even if they havent played RE4 (and unfortunately, according to many "fans" and "popular gamers", they didnt. Go figure that out). And his accent is just so exaggerated that it is not even clear what is it suppose to be but it does give him an identity.

In the remake, they just kind of made him australian, calling you more "mate" than "stranja" and even when he does say the latter, it just seems he is like "Oh, I said the thing" instead of actually saying it.

He speaks a lot more and I legit dont enjoy most of it. He feels far less mysterious and intriguing and just "a merchant" instead of "The Merchant From Resident Evil 4". It really shows the power of "less is more" as I legit dont want to see him complaining about his back or throwing little "quirky" jabs at my situation. A simple "WELCOME"/"HEHEHE- Thank you.../"Come back any time!" with the rare instance with him saying specific things over specific situations worked so much better.

And the "requests" are just busy work, lets be honest here, the game needed to pad out so it could be longer than the original so they added these "side quests" to give you more shit to do. But you see, I know someone will say "But Handsome Tard, the blue medallions were kind of like that, the remake is just expanding on it". That IS technically true but it comes down to quality vs quantity and not overstaying its welcome. It is clear that RE4 is a very "tight" experience and adding the new framework of the remakes would force them to make changes but, like I have said, it is pretty tight so that if you change something, the experience as whole might suffer for it.

And some nigger will unironically throw the "But it is more realistic this way.", to which I say "Thats why you are a nigger".

I have never seen a game literally hard crash a TV, not the computer or console but the TV itself lol

You just summed up the general criticism of the remakes in general.

I cannot think of a single positive thing from RE4make that has stuck with me outside of some unremarkable but vaguely interesting things like the expanded side-mission shit. I don't mind it.

The rest of the game just has none of that wacky charm the original had and goes right back to the soul/soulless slapfight. And I'm on record as liking all the nuRE games (except 3make, some more than others) while still maintaining the obvious superiority of the originals.

Speaking of: I tried playing Flesh Made Fear and it was frustrating because they obviously understand and love the RE games but still manage to fuck up the movement and exploration and combat loops. It's another example of feeling sooooo close and then dropping the ball. I was genuinely excited to play it but dropped it at the police station and am unsure if I'll pick it back up again. Frustrating to see people struggling to successfully ape what made the first 3 games so memorable. I am going to start calling these games Nocturne clones because they feel and play almost exactly like it.

EDIT: This just came across my feed, could it be the exception??? Stay tuned.

The last moment of mikami magic. 4 in all purposes was a huge gamble but paid off bc of him. Reason why no one ever put 5 and 6 in the patheon of great resident evils. People overrate 7 for some reason.

Watching the street fighter trailer and it kills me sf gets so many faithful adaptations yet RE gets total dick for theirs and dont tell me welcome to racoon city with a jeet version of my fav character and a race swaped Jill :(
If it helps the newest Re movie is reportedly doing very well in test screenings. It seems like it's following a lone survivor in the arkley mountains Outbreak style and just having him run into horrific shit.

Two answers

a plot point never picked up upon ever again.
Incorrect. infinite darkness (poorly) followed up on this thread. U.S military experimented with using salvaged T virus zombies to kill goat fuckers .
The missile was always thermobaric, but at least one English guidebook (the 'Resident Evil Archives' book) mistranslates it as nuclear.

People get a bit too caught up in the exact nature of the missile, when the key detail that RE9 retcons is the extent of the damage the missile did:

The third building focused on here is the RPD, which is obliterated.
At least it isn't as fucking bad as the aliens continuity. Entire Ships and planets getting nuked to pieces is somehow not canon.
