Finished up with my next batch of 3 games.
Code Veronica X: I found it to be pretty good. I don't think Steve was that bad. Yeah he's kind of retarded, but he is supposed to be 17. If his voice wasn't so annoying I don't think he'd be as hated. Overall I found the difficulty to be fine, the hardest part was really just the respawning enemies. The tyrant fight on the plane really wasn't that bad, just used the gas grenades and a couple of explosive bolts and he went down easy. The character switching caught me off guard but reloading my save fixed that. Having a retry option and being able to skip cutscenes was a huge qol improvement.
Zero: Mixed feelings on this one. The train section was great, but falls off after. The lab section was also pretty fun. The bosses were pretty uninspired. Instead of Billy, I would have preferred another member of Bravo Team. Inventory limits were pretty brutal, and I think either a side pack to find or reducing all of the 2 slot items to just 1.
4: All around fantastic. The game still has horror moments, especially with the change in camera. On a 4:3 screen, you can't actually see much, and not knowing what was behind you added a lot of tension. I have no real feelings about the qtes, they're just there. I liked the story, and escorting Ashley wasn't as bad as a feared it was going to be. I did struggle with the shooting range mini game but did manage to beat all of the stages.
5: Delayed making this post so long I beat 5 as well. As an action game it was fun. The start was pretty tense , what with having to make the most out of my limited ammunition. I played solo, and while Sheva's AI was fine most of the time, I do wish I would have gotten a friend to play through the game with.
Time to dust off my 3ds for Revelations.
