Capcom needs to sever their ties with Constantine Films. This looks worse than Welcome To Raccoon City. Also The Forest called, they want their monsters made of multiple of the same human limbs back.

I think the Hunters can obey orders?
It's not clear how they work, or how the Tyrants are programmed. One would think they're being shown photos and given verbal commands. Nemesis had to have been shown photos of all the STARS members since he recognizes them on sight. Mr X is looking for the G Virus and somehow knows it's in Sherry's pendant without looking at it. So either he was told this, or it senses it.

The Hunters in CVX home in on the sweeper camera things. It's not clear how those things work, so maybe they emit like a dog whistle and they come to where the camera is located.

The Lickers in Damnation have some type of telepathic link to their commander.
The Lickers were a mutation to a specific strain of T Virus.
Same with Crimson Heads. The Epsilon strain created them, and a further modified version made Lickers. They weren't unknown to Umbrella since the evolved Lickers in the RE2 lab were engineered.

It's unfortunate they didn't have the Crimson Head mechanic in 2R when they could reanimate as Regis Lickers.

Somehow that's sad.
It's explicitly described as a small puppy in a fucked up frog body.

Niggas didn't deserve it :(

Now you niggas are forcing me to come up with a Horror Comedy scenario where a kid befriends and makes a pet out of a BOW like a Hunter or Licker. And now they need to hide their new BFF from the authorities like those mean folks from the BSAA. Its like E.T mixed with Lilo and Stitch with a dose of gorehound flicks like those from Troma Entertainment.

And yes, it does eat the fucking comically evil bullies
this, and one of the more effective BOW.s they had, the Marcus Leeches, they dumped in the sewer and overlooked them, to disasterous results.

Umbrella was more a "can we do it" than "should be we do it" company, anything against the wall to see if it sticks, and hey, after that just dump it wherever.

Honestly, it all may seem comically and self destructively evil but given what we have seen mega corporations do in the last decade alone, is it really that farfetched?

There comes a point where it is hard to buy they arent doing evil shit just for the fun of it.

It is that comical disregard and lack of pragmatism that made Wesker and Birkin know it was a matter of time until Umbrella's pride would be followed by their nasty fall.
Look I can forgive an adaptation telling an original story, the actual problem here is that when you take away Umbrella, the actual characters, the BOWs, and the goofy nonsense, you're just left with generic people fighting zombies

Thats a good point. It is difficult to use the "It is like Outbreak" argument when there really doesnt seem to have anything that ties this with R.E except it is "kind" of a zombie movie.

And they might say "The Paul R.E movies had little to do with R.E" and they arent wrong persay but they are ignoring the point of the argument, which is that even the Paul movies kept Umbrella as the central antagonistic force of the plot and some RE-esque things but this new one seems to have EVEN LESS than those movies so what gives?

Also the scene with the zombies (?) falling on the cars is interesting but, at the same time, it doesnt FEEL R.E, it feels like something possibly supernatural is happening instead which R.E never touched (anything vaguely supernatural had a "scientific" explanation)

I could have sworn there was an interview were they said this wasn't explicitly in raccoon City but it was in a nearby city terminal on the outskirts or some shit.

its kinda interesting to see someone potentially just say fuck it and slap the name on their own horror story. Assuming they they aren't giving it anything more then basic lip service. Could be fun, a little annoying but we'll see how it goes.
It would be neat if it's explicitly not the T virus and they actually screw around with something obscure. One thing I do like is it is immediately apparent we are not following a mainline RE character. This guy is probably going to get his ass kicked around as badly as that black chick from Netflix RE

What the actual fuck did I just watch? Where are the series' regular characters, and who the fuck is THIS faggot?
See my post.

Zach Cregger, the director explicitly says in the video I posted that this is from "one of the games". Except I largely suspect that game is Evil Within and he just doesn't care/got confused and wanted cool monster.

Same with Crimson Heads.
Man Crimson Heads are so fucking cool. It's a shame they've never been done justice in the movies.

And yes, it does eat the fucking comically evil bullies
Congratulations, you made Alien Earth.

Cregger had the movie conceived, planned, and mapped out before he had the RE IP and doesn't care about RE at all.

Watch the video I posted. It's laughable how little he knows. He never played 2 and it shows.

Assuming they they aren't giving it anything more then basic lip service
They aren't. It's not RE. The director even states the "Fat Tyrant" is a rip off Blood Meridian and has nothing to do with RE.

It would be neat if it's explicitly not the T virus and they actually screw around with something obscure
He explicitly says it's the T Virus.

Sphere Hunter in a special cameo.

The BOWs seem pretty good as fire and forget, unleash them and let them do the job, even those that can't be controlled. I can see a terrorist group being willing to spend 120 million for a Tyrant, put in in a truck, and try get as close as possible to a goverment building to unleash it, sure, it costs more than a fighter jet, and you could buy a ton of drones with that price, but it will be harder to destroy as long it is not fighting anyone who is prepared.

We know from the reports that in "fair fights" against actual armies, even Tyrants would suffer heavy losses, especially to vehicles, but since when do terrorists fight fair?

So they are like a Beast of Nurgle?

The movie may or may not be fine, but while I have no problem with Creggar he is already becoming, in the eyes of people who constantly go on about owning the CHUDS, the new Rian Johnson nerd director darling and TLJ-glazing style discourse is already starting i.e. "Creggar knows better than 99.99999% of RE fans what makes RE!!" Any sort of normal healthy, non-sperging hesitance about the idea for the new RE film is being met with jabber like "Oh, I guess if you want a 'faithful' take on RE you stupid tourists must really like Welcome to Raccoon City!", from people who claim the "culture war" is fake and gay but keep trying to start new fronts, for some reason.

I did like welcome to raccoon City a lot actually. It had a low budget and weird DEI mandates to make it "different" from the games. (For some retarded reason Capcom does not want a 1 to 1 adaptation or anything that could be considered canon) But it was fun. It felt like someone went back in time and made a "proper" creatively 90s adaptation of the games. I was really happy to see it in theaters to be honest.

Canonically, there were some bioweapon attacks in India in 2002; the little girl from Degeneration lost her parents in one of these. I wonder how exactly the average BOW would react to being pushed into the Ganges.
>Bioweapon attack
>India

How would we even be able to tell?

the intent and usage of BOW's and viruses is to turn a portion of your enemy into weapons against themselves, "army in a can" that isn't even your soldiers.

Tyrants and such are really just over-engineered weapons, sure they are stronger than a Tank in terms of destructive power (but can be killed by one as well) but the damn things cost millions each, all they are good for is precision killing or claiming of targets, not open warfare units.
