Yeah, and speakin of wishful thinking...I thought a bit about Resident evil 8 and think it would be awesome if they go back to the 60s when Umbrella was founded. It would be awesome too see how the monsters looked back then. Even the good ol' typewriters could be used again. The main characters could be a detective and/ or a scientist hired by umbrella and they slowly unravel the horrible truth about the company.
I think that's what Resident Evil is missing. I wish they would show us how it all began.
But that's wishful thinking.

While I am convinced given the production company is the same that shat out the movies that this is gonna suck, if we are really...really fucking lucky we will finally get the planned Arkay series that had a pilot prologue leaked a while back...
Supposedly the series was gonna be a prequel to RE1 in which the Racoon City police investigated fucked up murders and incidents which steadily built up to the STARS team being sent to the city, all while the outbreak in RE2 slowly ramped up in the background.
Honestly given how turgid and shit the Walking Dead turned out, I would really appreciate some non apocalyptic/pure horror driven zombie series like this one was planned to be.
Also just as a tangental side-note, it does amuse me to no end that out of all the zombie media shit out there, fucking Resident Evil probably was the most on the money with how an actual zombie "apocalypse" would go down, with a handful of settlements being wiped out in initial outbreaks before every government and health/military body on the planet realised "oh shit there are fucking zombies. we probably should do something about this or things will get nasty" and quickly started implementing simple yet effective countermeasures.
