PS: fuck the knife in the old games. It was fucking worthless. Making it into a defensive item is the way to go. I did hear that the knife is absurdly strong in Code Veronica though.

Code Veronica's knife is similar to how it is in RE2make in that it clips on enemies (Or at least zombies, never had the balls to try on others!) and does multiple hits, it was really effective against single zombies if you slash their knees because it downs them. Helps save ammo. Not nearly as powerful as it is in RE2make but at the same time, it's not breakable.

Honestly this would be my only criticism of what they did with Mr. X, like how the fuck are they gonna turn that shit into overdrive with Nemesis?!

Really work on the A.I. kind of like in Alien Isolation. So Nemesis could appear randomly wherever. Put in some skylights and shit for him to randomly drop from too.

I noticed Mr. X punching a zombie once. I don't know how to recreate it. I assume that if the zombie is wedged in such a way in front of him that that will trigger it.

I'm starting to think they might be developing a new Outbreak game for modern systems, they've been hiding references to it since RE7 and with RE2 full of them it sounds like the Outbreak series has been noticed.

Also I found one in the title opening on A scenarion during the credits. They have a shot of an underground train station that looks somewhat like South Raccoon Street Station from the Underbelly scenario, the only time an underground station has been seen in Raccoon City.

An Outbreak in this day and age would be perfect but at the same time would be very difficult to do it right. If you make it like your typical hardcore RE experience then there's no way in fuck you could play with randoms. There's just no way without getting fucked over more times than not. A Vote Kick option wouldn't magically fix it either not the unless the A.I. is great and even then a guy could not know what he's doing or troll and take a key item and do whatever. The other way to do it would be to sadly make it more of an action game ala Left 4 Dead.

I don't blame them. I want to forget 5 and 6 existed too.

5 would have been great had Capcom not forced Co-Op on players.

You know what I found horribly amusing? When people got terribly upset at RE5 for being able to massacre black people. When this happened in Zero though? Nobody gave a shit lol

I forget the guy's name but I do remember a black journalist complaining about this very thing back when 5 first came out.

Giving the SLIGHTEST bit of understanding there, RE5 would have gone down better if there wasn't a moment where you fought literal grass skirt wearing spear chuckers. The whining about other sections was fucking dumb though, given the running theme of first world corporation fucking over the third world destitute.

And Tyrant only punches zombies if they're in his way. He can punch Lickers too, but will only do that when they're rearing up to strike, so it's a little less common.

Yeah I remember that, it also happened round the same time with Left 4 Dead 2. A handful of absolute z list online news sites put out articles about how offensive it is to be able to kill black people in video games set in locations that are largely full of black people.

Everyone had a jolly good laugh at this apparently minor outbreak of idiocy....sadly not knowing we were watching the first signs of the infection that would go on to devour the entire media industry

To be honest, all they have to do if remake the graphics, give all 10 scenarios plus the other scenarios that were cut, and multiplayer and local co-op, and it'll pretty much be as good as it was back in 2004. If they do what they did with Resident Evil 1 the Outbreak series would be great.

And let us go to Saint Michael's Clock Tower again, that shit was awesome.

They already kind of did that, I think. I know there was an HD version of 4 but I want to say there was one of 5 too.

5 has been ported to current gen consoles and Resident Evil 4 has been ported and given an HD release more times than Skyrim. Outbreak remains only on the PS2, it's not even on the PS Store to buy like some other PS2 classics.

Oh, I thought you meant 5. My bad. Still, I think it would be difficult to do a traditional hardcore RE experience online.

I can't be the only one who hates the Chess Piece puzzle. The rest of the puzzles are fine but that one was just annoying.

I enjoyed 5 a good deal (and 6 to a lesser extent). The only part of the game I fucking hate was the El Gigante fight in the Jeep where you have to hit him with the exact necessary amount of shots at specific times to down him without getting killed. Apart from that I loved maxing out weapons then tearing ass through the game with Safari Chris OP as hell. Then again, my initial impressions might be different from others since I always had someone to play with when it first released.

Ironically, when Outbreak first came out I didn’t have an internet connection so I mostly had to deal with the AI. It was good for a laugh, and I’d love to see them bring that kind of co-op back.
