This keeps circulating on /v/. Its apparently a screenshot of Jill from the game. It originally came from REEEEEsetEra according to /r/residentevil.

At least TGA is next weekend. Hopefully we'll hear an announcement.

Well, it definitely resembles the character model on the box, and looks nothing like Jill's traditional design, so its probably legit. At least Capcom didn't go out of their way to make her look uglier. But at this point, I just want to see what the gameplay will look like.

It's funny that Jill is supposed to be a hapa but they still haven't gotten a hapa face model for her yet. Personally, I'm torn on her design. Carlos is great, though.

The correct term is Hāfu: she's half French (from her father) and half Japanese (her mother was Nikkei or a member of the Japanese diaspora). However, Jill has never looked particularly Asian. My guess, her brown her was supposed to indicate her descent, but that got nuked when they bleached her hair blonde.

Hapa is really just the American version of that, expanded to all people from Asia. I guess it's associated with the subreddit now, though. Considering Ada looks much more Asian in the RE2 remake, I figured they'd go the extra mile here, too.

I honest to God hope they give us the option to have Nemesis say the OG "STARS" sound effect instead of any new one they will come up with because lets face it, none of the other incarnations of Nemesis were able to properly capture the eerie "Stars..." sound he makes.
An issue a lot of them seem to fall is that Nemesis never is suppose to shout or roar STARS (which a lot of them have him do because he is big and scaaaary), which he never once did in the original or if he ever did, it was only once or twice at most (and in fitting situations). Nemesis's "STARS" is creepy not because it means he is close by (trust me, if he is, he is already making his presence known), its the fact that up until that point no BOW ever really "spoke" in any recognizable way, they were all animalistic in a way. Nemesis, however? He not only shows he is a different league from the mindless monster that is William Birkin G by killing one of his targets from the get go (which lets face it, William never really managed to get his targets at the end) but he utters "STARS", showing he is SMART and capable of using guns (which again, no monster up to this point ever did). Nemesis uses the rocket launcher against you, as if to say, "Yep, now the launcher is aimed against ya", it reverts the recurring trope back literally at us. But there was more to it, Nemesis's "STARS" did show he was smart but thats all there was to it, there was no passion, anger or anything...just cold and efficient brutality, just like a BOW Terminator, Nemesis had a brain but he lacked a "soul", no real humanity behind that voice. Nemesis uttered "STARS" when appearing, fighting and "dying", like his own one word language, he would drop down saying "STARS", as if to say "I'll be back...".

TL;DR version: Nemesis is too human in other appearances and it shows in his "STARS", the OG is cold, smart and inhuman and is the true superior version that I hope the remake at least tries to maintain and/or give us the option of having the OG "STARS" sound effect on (No doubt modders will put it in tho if they dont).

I just hope they keep the warning cue of sudden, total silence...except for the distressed howling of off-screen zombies. That never failed to turn up my heckles.
Zombie sounds can actually be quite unsettling when you just listen to their "choir" at a safe distance...those things used to be regular human beings with real thoughts and emotions and now...its all replaced by this nihilistic rotting sound of death...

Hey, at least there's a classic costume option. Looks pretty good, but I think this was the trailer that made me realize "damn, these are terrible voice actors".
That makes it true to the original FUCKING IDIOT!

Well, the original had what could charitably described as potato graphics, this looks a lot better. It just stands out a lot. For instance, that Russian accent was terrible.

April 2020, that's a really fucking quick turn around.
If it's anything like the original 3, they're reusing several locations to make development faster.

Really the only mainly reused assets from RE3 was the police station. Other then that most of it is unique. However there were rumour when RE2 came out that they had already been working on RE3.

The Trailer gives me the impression Brad Vickers will have more involvement in the story, at least compared to the original game.

Personally I'd love to see R3make address the fate of the other S.T.A.R.S members; its something that always irked me in RE3.

EDIT: I know most of them were killed off in RE1, but still.

I enjoy the focus on running as fast as you can from Nemesis from the get go, making artificial blocked entrances to at least buy some space between him...aaaand Nemesis show he can just break throug the roof like a motherfucker. I could faintly hear a "STARS" but I cant say if its good or not just yet, also I noticed a few notes of his OG theme, tho Im not sure if its going to be an actual thing or just in the trailer. I also liked how they make it clear from the get go that 3 starts off before 2's events (and most likely finishes afterwards). I also enjoyed how they dont focus entirely on Nemesis, just on the terror of fleeing from him, we can just barely see his towering dark figure in Jill's panicking POV.

Oh I also imagine if they will try to flesh out Brad's character a bit more, since in 3, he just kind of appears and then gets brutally killed off by Nemesis (and then left to be finished off by Leon/Clair once he reanimates). He was a big coward in RE 1 but he did still change his mind and came back to save everyone at the last second...one must wonder how much guilt he still felt by the time 3 was happening. He may be a coward but those were still his partners at the end of the day. Fleshing out his character a bit more would probably make his death more impactful, maybe he tries to fight Nemesis to redeem himself to Jill and then gets easily killed off to show Nemesis aint fucking around (and to maybe get some feels since OG Brad's death happens too fast for you to properly mourn him)

Oh and hopefully there are multiple endings in this too. Im definetly getting the Barry "Jill Sandwich" Burton ending.

...Ah yeah, Resistance is nice,idk... I would have prefered an Outbreak remake.

They are reusing most assets from 2 so of course its gonna be finished much faster

That was a pretty good trailer, the first person part when she is running through the building and away from Nemesis is what I kind of had in mind for the game of making it a little more maze like and more open. I really hope it's not shit. Also I really want to see what they do with 8 now whenever they get to it.

Edit: There is also a Special Developer message that has a little bit of gameplay, and info on Resistance as well. Looks like they brought back the dodge as well.

It feels like the 90s all over again, Spyro and crash remake trilogy, resident evil 2 and now three, not to mention SpongeBob battle for bikini bottom rehydrated and destroy all humans coming next year too...truly gaming is back to Glory days my fellow kiwis let's cherish this time.

I have to admit, I'm torn on this trailer. First off, the voice acting was godawful. And not awful in a good way, like the first Resident Evil, just awful. The second remake was passable, once you got past the script and characterization. This is just not good. Second, the character designs look even worse in engine than they did in the artwork. Jill's face is just off; her face looks downright masculine, and her head looks uncomfortably proportioned to her body in some shots.

Third, I can't tell if this is supposed to first person or third person. All the first person segments seem to indicates the former, but there are gameplay segments that clearly show the latter. Maybe you can switch between the two? Which could be fine, but I would have to see it in practice before I pass judgment. Fourth, the game looks very recycled from the second remake. To be expected, I guess, since they were probably working on this at the same time as the second remake, but I hope they have a lot of original segments. The original RE3 was all original except for the police station, which was slightly revamped anyway, so I hope they keep to that. Also, the fact that this is so similar to the second remake means it will probably play almost exactly like that remake. I hope they've made adjustments to things like the zombie RNG (as in removing it). Fifth, I hope they don't half ass the aspects that made the original game unique like they did for the second remake. Specifically, all the choices you could make in game that changed the plot. If they're going to remake a game, don't half-ass the things that made it stand out.

And finally: Nemesis. I'm torn here. He shouldn't be a clone of Mr. X. They should make him similar to how he was originally. Give us points in the game where we can actually fight him or impede him, and reward us for it. Don't make him an all consuming presence; there were points in the original where he wouldn't chase you. Mr. X quickly overstayed his welcome; don't make the same mistake here. Also, since the trailer focused on, well, running away from him, actually allow us to run in this game instead of doing a light jog like in the second remake, which was both unrealistic and annoying (especially since it made moving through sections of the game slower than they had to be).
