In before fantards make a meme of Jill booping Nemesis' cute little button nose.

Any which way, looking forward to this being officially announced RE2 remake was easily one of the top 5 games I played last year. I'm not too crazy keen on the new Jill look but I'm sure that's to cater to the "gotta be more realistic" set - Claire wasn't gonna be running around in booty shorts, therefore Jill isn't going to be running around in a tanktop (unless of course you buy the Super De Duper Deluxe edition which gives you Jill a proper tank top). Honestly the only thing that is bothering me is her hair. Right side of her head seem flat but that could very well be the graphic.

I think we should wait a bit until we get more before judging the designs TOO much. Besides, at the end of the day, its the originals that are the canon games , the remakes are merely updated reinterpretation of the events so I dont "mind" some differences in the models (tho yeah, I can see them having the tank top as a paid skin for Jill). Carlos looks very different but the reason I dont mind is because we barely have seen him outside of RE3 and some spin offs (like the Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii, good game), tho I hope they give him a haircut, he is really needing one.

Now I want to see that, thanks...

I'm not too upset by Jill's redesign since Jill's skimpy outfit in the original RE3 was a target of mockery even back in the PS1 era. I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom is doing some "Anita-proofing" just in case the Woke Twitter/Reset Era crowd sets their sights on Capcom, but there's also the more likely possibility of Capcom just wanting to make a little extra buck by making Jill's old tube top outfit part of a paid DLC or a pre-order bonus.

Also, if they're this close to a proper announcement, there's a good possibility that the remake of RE3 was developed in tandem with the RE2 remake.

Not so worried about Jill's original costume getting in the game or not since it's 100% guaranteed to be a community PC mod within the first month of release. I wish they'd move her hairline on the right up a bit, and I'd much rather Carlos get his 90's Ricky Martin haircut back. Also hope that outfit of his is like Leon's in that he changes out of his UBCS uniform to something more practical and easier to maneuver in, because I really liked the UBCS color scheme and overall look.

I really don't like Nemisis and his nose, though.

Like Nemesis warped face, kinda like how Lisa Trevor wears her skin (or was it her mothers?) over whats remaining of her head.

New character designs are fine and to be expected.

Aw yes, thank you for the nightmare relapses, right when I thought I moved on from from Lisa Trevor.
She is terrifying, then sad, then back to terrifying (but still sad).

Is that the case though?

This is where Resident Evil's continuity gets a little weird, because where did the original REmake fall in line? Was that simply a replacement for the original game or was the original still the "canon" entry and if so does that mean REmake, RE2 Remake and now RE3 Remake are their own continuity?

I dare say I actually like to think of it that way and that Capcom should focus on this new continuity and ignore RE5 and RE6, as I've said before.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's just the outfit she happened to be wearing when she happened to find herself caught in the midst of a zombie outbreak, it's not like she planned it out and chose that outfit on purpose.

True, but it was still commonly joked about in the Resident Evil fandom back in the day.

In terms of continuity, I think that the "main" one follows the OG PSX trilogy, tho in the case of 1, there are elements of the remake that are generally accepted as part of the canon (such as Lisa Trevor, given she appears on Umbrella Chronicles, which is a retelling of 0,1 and 3). However, we need to see how the remakes of 2 and 3 affect how they are seem in the canon but at most, its still going to be the OG games as the "most canon" with at most just elements of the remake being accepted (especially if future entries and spin offs adknowledge them).
Im not sure if you can say that REmake is in the same continuity as REmake 2/3, maybe it is, maybe it isnt.

But at least the way the canon works is that "elements" of the plot become canon (such as Barry and Rebecca surviving the Spencer Mansion case, even tho neither Chris or Jill's sides arent entirely more canon than the other and that Wesker turned a traitor and was "killed" by the tyrant), its a bit muddy indeed but you kind of usually dont question it much since it becomes easier to follow after 3 with Code Veronica and RE 4.

While I wish they kept old nemesis, I think the new one is fine.

I'd say the bent nose on Nemesis is a bit weird when you see his 3/4 face, but I do hope it'll be a genuine threat in the game unlike Mr.X

I'm sharing this silly article by the way

We can see Jill has undergone breast reduction surgery to stop the gaze of “toxic and white males”. Her once beautiful and confident appearance born of years of dedication, training and determination, is replaced by a fugly feminist inspired looks like diarrhea is running down their legs appearance. No one knows why her beautician took her feminine hairstyle and gave her a male cut, but hopefully she got her money back.

It’s fairly obvious this game is being designed and developed by people pandering to feminists. You have a once confident, beautiful, strong female character looking like she’s about to shit herself and has lost any confidence she has ever had. Then standing next to her is a character designed to be a modern day heartthrob for women. Complete with the removal of any Latino attributes his character previously had, but something tells me there will be no outrage mobs over his whitewashing.

I love Nemmy's design. Goofy at first, but the more detail I drink the uneasier I get - whoever compared him to Lisa Trevor was bang on the money. Poor fucker doesn't have enough skin of his own so they stretched someone else's over the gaps.

Leave it to Billy Usher to completely overreact over Jill's redesign.

I like that he says it's "obvious" the game will be pandering to feminists when literally all we've seen is this one picture that shows that Jill won't be having the same design, and even then it doesn't show her full figure.

You know, the nose on Nemesis design could suggest something frightening.
That Nemesis truly was once a human being.
Now this was a theory dropped all around Nemesis, mostly thanks to the movie and the chinese manga but there was nothing to suggest that Nemesis wasnt grown inside a chemical bathtub like all Tyrant types but Nemesis's more human (and yet even less unhuman) new look makes me wonder if his backstory will be expanded upon. Another interesting fact about Nemesis is that he was made from the same strain of the T-Virus that made Lisa Trevor what she became (she can even erupt tentacles like Nemesis can), feels like a detail in the remake that tried to explain or at least connect her invulnerability with Nemesis's.

This keeps circulating on /v/. Its apparently a screenshot of Jill from the game. It originally came from REEEEEsetEra according to /r/residentevil.
