acktually residental evil village was about abortions because they should of aborted the moldy fetus and they didn't and if they did the lord of muppets wouldn't have made a giant deadly fetus.

Speaking of the fetus/baby I wish you got to blow it away as Chris even though that would of been very dark. They could of had the villagers or BSAA have it in a cage and it breaks out or something. It just isn't Resident Evil when you can't solve your problems by shooting it (apart from Lisa and Nemesis until the designated death times. And the hillbilly family). And it is kind of dark that a creature with a child like mind is left to starve in a dark basement. (that's if it is even real and not a vision caused by the Scarecrow gas?).

Also was the fetus thing meant to be related to the parasites that created the wolfmen because it does have a little bit of a resemblance, in particular having arms but the legs aren't really formed.
The fetus likely wasn't what it seems and likely just some other non fetus monster that the hallucinations turned into a fetus monster in his mind.

I would love to know what the hell it looks like outside the hallucination.

I'm actually having fun with RE6 right now. After RE Engine games it honestly feels refreshing. Not necessarily better, just different. But it does have a lot to offer if you take your time getting used to the controls (because the tutorial tells you fuckton of nothing useful).
Although I keep running out of ammo, I don't remember it being so frustrating.

Am I right in assuming the weapons are just straight upgrades within their subtypes? They probably needed final upgrade perks like 4’s had. I also played Moreau’s section a few days ago and liked it more than I thought I would.
Yes. The old weapons are slightly better for slightly less money if you blow all your Lei on Damage boosts rather than save up for a whole new gun, but as soon as you get your first couple of upgrades on the new version, it's better across the board.

The only real benefit to keeping old guns is the fact that they can be fully upgraded for less, which unlocks the Infinite Ammo cheat for those guns on your NG+. It's probably not worth it, though, since ammo isn't hard to find and you only have so many points you can spend to unlock cheats. My advice would be to just get the new guns ASAP.

ON MERCENARIES, it's different. Mercenaries is more balanced, since money spent counts against your score, and also the "better" guns tend to have drawbacks that they don't have in the normal campaign mode (e.g. the best shotgun is slow as fuck, middle shotgun has no ammo capacity, etc)

The fetus likely wasn't what it seems and likely just some other non fetus monster that the hallucinations turned into a fetus monster in his mind.

I think 6 was fine. 5 was fine, too. They weren't the sort of the games I was REALLY looking for - I always preferred brutal zombie survival horror ala REvil 1. But honestly, Resident Evil was already losing it by REvil 2, and REvil 4 basically killed the franchise - so as long as you go into 5 and 6 thinking, "this is the world created by 4 and the newfags it brought in", it's really not that bad. Different experience, but fun in its own way, ESPECIALLY if you play co-op with a friend.

The Jake/Sherry campaign in 6 sucked ass, though. There's no excuse for that.

Kinda left me thinking.... Just what kind of game is this supposed to be? Bouncing all over the place
I just finished Village yesterday and feel the same way about that game, to be honest. Every zone was trying to bring a different kind of horror and as soon as I'd adjusted to the new area it was already gone. Overall I think the Factory was my favourite area in Village, I'm a big fan of the rusted, unsafe, loud and dangerous industrial areas like the Disposal Facility in RE3 and the trains that run from the Nest facility in the original RE2 and Outbreak

It might be genuine autism but I didn't really feel like I was playing an RE game until the last factory area of Village, otherwise the game felt like a weird mesh of Alien: Isolation, Silent Hill, F.E.A.R and Outlast.
The Castle is devoid of serious enemies and you just run and evade the daughters/Lady Dimitrescu, very much an Alien: Isolation feeling but without the panic, despite the similarity to the REmake2 Mr. X mechanics it just didn't get me stressed in the same way, I was more often than not just annoyed that I was stuck in a corridor and needed to wait for her to grab me and toss me over her shoulder to free me.
The House was probably the most panic inducing part of the game for me that's only because they took my weapons away and made me feel defenceless, like how Outlast only gives you a camera and nothing else to defend yourself.
By the time I got to The Reservoir I was kitted out like fucking John Matrix on his way to rescue his daughter and walked through their with enough explosives to level the village myself, I can't even say that part was any kind of horror or panic inducing.

The Factory was good old endgame Resident Evil stuff to me, had a great time, felt like someone had been watching Tetsuo: The Iron Man and Cyber City Oedo.
Then there was the Chris stuff and the final boss fight. Honestly, it felt like F.E.A.R but without the fun gunplay and slow-mo.
Overall, 5/10. The story is whatever it is and the gameplay is fine if a bit slower than I'd like, the side-missions/treasure hunting/actual hunting are just things to pass the time and give you something to do while you traipse through one end of town to the next.
Oh and final complaint for the bonus autism point: The game gives you so much ammo that you might have to leave it on the ground unless you've upgraded your bags, I prefer the older system of having to scrape by with as little ammo as possible and putting one or two rounds into enemy legs to let me run past them. The older games punished you for killing every zombie you see, Village encourages it. I can't talk too much shit about that mechanic, though, because I suppose that's been the way of things since RE4 now and I still like 4.
None of my friends have played it and they probably won't so that means you guys have to listen to my shitty review of this game.

I was almost having an issue with ammo during my initial playthrough, primarily because I am a bit of a spaz and am pretty dirt terrible at first person games, but also because I had completely neglected the crafting aspect when it came to ammo and Jesus juice. I made it to the factory (agreed - best place in the game) and when facing off with some of the soldats, I was starting to run low.

Then I went to the crafting tab. And saw a shit ton of gunpowder and metal scrap. Then I felt like Arnie carrying Sarah Connor's coffin with weapons and ammo out the ass. I had so many bullets it wasn't even funny. And enough pipe bombs to level that factory if I felt so inclined.

Re8 is really good, I think. Kinda jumbled, like my assessment of 6, but I feel that the tone was a bit more consistent throughout. In 6, you had almost 4 different games crammed into 1. In 8, you just had 4/5 differentish zones crammed into the same game. The Jake and Sherry adventure can go suck one, though. The Ustanak was a cool chaser, I will admit. But everything else in their part of the campaign was just a slog.

Relooking at some of the old art from 1-3 and I really miss that style. One of my favorites things that Capcom has been doing has been putting a bunch of the concept art in the game, now I'm starting to want to get a book on all the old stuff.

I really liked Village, and I feel I'll be replaying it far more than 7 simply for the ability to skip cutscenes. But it really felt like it was trying too many different things and not really excelling at a single one of them. It didn't go hard enough on horror, nor did it go hard enough on action. The combat left me wanting some more 'tactical' elements like RE4's melee attacks and enemy behavior.

Waiting for the suplex mod with baited breath.

An action game with a horror-themed coat of paint. The kind of game that tried to mimic more action oriented games and movies, but just didn't quite or failed to pull it off.

As an RE game, it's not great. As an action game, it's pretty good.

Though if that's the direction Capcom wanted to go they should of just bought the rights to the Nightmare Creature's franchise. That would of been awesome.

Yeah village is a well crafted game that I am ultimately pretty disappointed with.

I’m not sure why they abandon stuff like limited saves, ammo, and item boxes. It is these limiting factors that make survival horror games and give that classic RE feel.

I hate that each of the four areas feel linear and disconnected in the flow of the game. You go through each of them like a mini dungeon and never have to return to work out a puzzle. For instance why not have a puzzle in the castle where you need to get something from the doll house.

Previous RE games had a location that felt pretty interconnected and you had some ability to solve puzzles in different orders and plan different “routes” through the mansion. 8 feels like you are moving through a linear route in a theme park.

I don’t know the game is gorgeous to look at, had cool character design, but is just completely lacking in the survival horror aspect.

It feels at this point like capcom doesn’t get what made the early RE games and Remake 2 so good.

Just as sort of an autistic side note, I'm kind of curious if anyone else else actually had that Tiger RE2 handheld game. I had that fucker because I had an N64 and missed out on RE2 for over a year, and yet it was oddly decent. Better than what you would expect at least.
