I liked the concept of Annette being the main villain. She even had a G form. The ended up using that idea for Alex Wesker, I believe.I've always been interested in a lot of the concepts in Resident Evil 1.5 in general.

If the capcom leak is true and there really is this Resident Evil Hank game releasing in 2024 (probably meant to be titled hunk) Hunk could be getting his own game.Capcom is weird about giving Hunk his own game. It must be one of those bizarro Japanese business culture things where the customer wants thing but the company just refuses to do it for reasons. Just like Final Fantasy 7 remake, no one wanted a FF 7 sequel, they just wanted the same game with updated visuals and improvements to gameplay issues. Or, Capcom not releasing Monster Hunter on consoles and PC until very recently. Or an MMO Pokemon game. Etcetera and etcetera.
The closest we got to a Hunk game was Operation Raccoon City and Umbrella Corps (shudder).
Play them in order of release, 1,2,3,CV,0 then 4 etc.Man, I really need to play this game. I am disappointed that I have never actually played it and yet, it looks pretty good (Gameplays). I just don't know which one I should play first.
Looks kind of like Nikolai.(Outbreak's unreleased model looks way different, but its not canon.)

I'm glad they didn't go with the Fog or Hookman stuff. Too much like Silent Hill and just didn't feel right to me.What I've always been way, way more interested in are the two early versions of RE4, the "fog" and "hookman" ones, I can't complain too much because the changing of RE4 lead to us getting Haunting Ground and I wouldn't want to trade that game, from what I also remember RE4 was originally supposed to be the end of the series and despite it's ups and down I'm glad it kept going, but it's the kind of thing where I would absolutely love to be able to slip into an alternate universe and see what those would have been like had they been completed.
From what I recall, ever since RE7 they've been soft retconning the series. REmake 2 and 3 are considered the nu-canon.From what I understand with RE2 and RE3 Remake you can't necessarily consider them "canon" with the mainline series as there's some contradictions, so why not use that as an opportunity to retell the final showdown with Umbrella and Wesker?
I'm completely okay with this. Old canon should have ended at 5.From what I recall, ever since RE7 they've been soft retconning the series. REmake 2 and 3 are considered the nu-canon.
I'm mixed on it. It wouldn't be too hard to soft or even outright retcon a good chunk of 6's canon, and 7 does give the series a new path to go down, but they've already gone back to some of the old bullshit that made the later games dopey. REmake 2 and 3 weren't too bad though story-wise though so I guess we'll just have to wait and see how they handle the eventual remake of 4.I'm completely okay with this. Old canon should have ended at 5.
Did anybody notice a change in personality between RE2 and the remake? I heard he was more slightly more compassionate towards his men. Although I haven't finished it just yet. I just like the idea of him being the "master chief" of Umbrella.
This makes sense because 6's story is so retarded it's best to ignore it ever happened, which is what Capcom seems to be doing.Looks kind of like Nikolai.

I hope they never get it into their heads to remake Haunting Grounds. You know it would be censored to shit and all the characters would become one-dimensional caricatures. Oh, and Fiona would be a former green beret or some dumb shit in order to make her more tough.

I'm ok with it as well because the first two games are so cheesy and radically different tech wise it's hard to kind of swallow it's the same world as 7 and 8, the remakes (including REmake 1) bring it together into a more cohesive tone and style.I'm completely okay with this. Old canon should have ended at 5.
One thing I dislike about RE is the lore is so convoluted now given the sheer amount of spinoffs and mainline games, I miss when things were cleaner and neater, I can't believe crucial elements of the lore were relegated to stuff like the Wii light gun shooter games for example, just dumb.I'm mixed on it. It wouldn't be too hard to soft or even outright retcon a good chunk of 6's canon, and 7 does give the series a new path to go down, but they've already gone back to some of the old bullshit that made the later games dopey. Personally, I don't have high hopes.
Wasn't finding the virus in Africa actually established in REmake or Zero?I know 8 has a couple of references to 5, like "boulder punching asshole" and referencing Spencer finding the Progenitor virus in Africa, but you could still say "he found the virus in Africa" as part of the lore but not have a game set there and at some point just have Chris punch the fuck out of a boulder again.
Nope, REmake and Zero didn't go into it specifically, what was supposed to happen is the original version of 4 would have gone into it and and the Progenitor virus would have been found in an ancient mummy in the caves underneath Spencer castle in Europe.Wasn't finding the virus in Africa actually established in REmake or Zero?
Because Capcom has this nasty habit of screwing the pooch. But if this is a new canon why not make a game to fill the gap left by 5 and 6 or at least 6?
In CV Claire mentions that she'll send an e-mail to Leon who'll get in touch with Chris. I think it's implied that over the course of the series they've met before....it was cool to have a game with both Leon and Chris in it (and have them meet for the first time)...
CV I think.Wasn't finding the virus in Africa actually established in REmake or Zero?
A RE4 remake is completely unnecessary, unless they have really batshit idea for how to change things up. If they change the setting, enemy's, characters and just go full nu timeline im all for it. if its just a less campy reskin it would be pointless cash grab.I'm mixed on it. I love keith. He's always great as a bad guy and im impressed they've always kept him as the voice of hunk, a relatively minor role for so long.Compassionate might be pushing it, but he was far less sociopathic - covering for a team mate who made a massive, if legitimate, mistake when apprehending Birkin, and demonstrating that his "your survival is your responsibility, not mine" mindset is applied just as equally to himself as anyone else. Took the edge off him slightly, but also went a long way to justifying why other operatives respect him; it always bugged me a little bit that team mates fawned over someone who would quite happily leave you out to dry.
That said, he's still voiced by Keith Silverstein and I cannot help but think of the fucking cloud district whenever he talks.
Gameplay-wise, there's not much you can do. Perhaps an option to move and shoot, slightly rebalancing the guns... Replacing the enemies and characters just doesn't sound good to me.A RE4 remake is completely unnecessary, unless they have really batshit idea for how to change things up. I dont really know if it's plot could be done otherwise. I mean they could keep some characters here and there, but if I dont want to play same game that's less campy awesome and more grimdark horor unless they got a really cool new gimmick. It vaguely reminds me of how COD tried to put in old characters in the reboot of modern warfare and it felt so tacky.Gameplay-wise, there's not much you can do. I wouldn't mind grimdark, but I'd want them to mostly keep the character's personalities intact. Weird contrast I know, but I think it could work.I dont really know if it's plot could be done otherwise. As for gameplay, I just want the same deal as before, but with aimed movement and more ways to dodge and attack like say RE3.
They've re released RE4 so many times a straight up remake does seem pointless, it'd be much more interesting if it was a new story full on nu timeline style, closer to what we originally would have got.A RE4 remake is completely unnecessary, unless they have really batshit idea for how to change things up. As a game, RE4 is a classic, it's just that the story is kind of dumb.4 is one of those rare titles where you keep discovering new strats decades later.
Late to the party, but I recently discovered Carci's channel. Binge-watching his challenge runs. He blocks Ganado with swinging doors, he creates choke points and blows them all up with a Dynamite Ganado, he kills campers before they aggro....all while continually bitching about how buggy it is. 10/10.

Doesn’t help that 4 is probably the game in the series least in need of a remake, especially when the entire industry learned the wrong lessons from it for over a decade.I'm mixed on it.
