Remember when RE6 first came out and all the QTEs? All the bullshit that Capcom later had to patch because people were pissed?

I hated them so damn much.
I only ever played it on release, did they simply remove it hatchet style?
RE6 has mercenaries?
Possibly the best one ever.

I would be down if they ever released another standalone Mercenaries game like 3D in the style of RE6's Mercenaries. Steel Beast is such a banger of a stage, but all of them were pretty fun. Great costumes also, shame you couldn't wear them in the actual campaign.

I tend to hate games that have instant game overs when caught

So I played a bit of Call of Chris yesterday. I love the idea of fighting BOW enhanced terrorists, and it was cool shit to just see em regenerate arms, legs and heads glore as you pop em off. However, it has two very serious problems that hold me back from completely enjoying it. A shitty cover system and lack of ammo. If there's an option to not have to hold down the aim button to stay in cover, it's salvageable, but it's too dam awkward to use by default.

And despite being this call of duty action extravaganza, there is a ridiculous lack of ammo when you first start out. Chris should be fully decked out to kick some ass, yet he's only got one mag in the chamber and barely any healing items. Even with an item drop perk enabled, I would frequently have to rely on meleeing the shit out of enemy's, to get anywhere. Felt way more balanced in leon's campaign. Also it's a bitch to hit long range enemy's as Chris, becouse Pier's is the only one with a sniper rife and the AI takes it sweet time picking off enemy's.

I suddenly understand why there's an infinite ammo option on the level select screen. It seems they shit the bed when it came to ammo placement. Im gonna replay with it on and see how it feels.

For me, the graphics don't hold up as well as pre-rendered backgrounds. This is the same console generation as REmake?

I'm starting to see why CV needed a remake the most.:stress:

There's no way they didn't intentionally make Sherry Birkin's game over look like child rape.

Ugh I hope Dimitrescu returns for DLC. But then I have no idea if there will be a gold edition. Wanna play it bad. Heard the vampire and lycathropy really add an intriguing mix to the formula

I love how infinite ammo is a menu option from the beginning but cant be properly turned on till you beat all the levels.

Ammo placement for Chris got better after I switched to the pistol for most encounters, but it's still kinda ridiculous how they put so much focus on his machine gun over the pistol in cutscenes. You can burn a hole in that thing's ammo supply in no time at all.

Noticed a nice feature about RE6. If you turn the UI hints off and miss a gun in a level, they'll give it to you in the next one.

Also im baffled how im still finding secrets in the options menu. You can turn on classic laser sight from Re4 and holy shit does that make it so much easier to aim. There's also an option to turn the cover system camera from Auto to manual, as it kept changing the direction of the main camura stance left - right depending where I exited cover. That greatly fucked with my groove and will likely improve my perception of the cover system.

Played first 2 chapters of Jake's story. It's balanced a lot better ammo wise and I really like the chemistry between Sherry and Jake. Although I kinda feel like it needed a bit more polish, as its very middle of the road, but not bad.

Little bit of weird autism on my part, but does anybody look at the Ustanak and think BOW Leon? The hair always throws me off.

Jake's campaign is a lot of obstacle courses (Ada's too, for that matter) and puzzles... by which I mean at all. It also has the motorbike sequence where a lot of people keep their finger on the gas and that causes a lot of game overs in Co-op. In general, a good Co-op on Jake's campaign requires both players to know what roles they're supposed to play. Pro-tip. Jake can actually kill the helicopter by climbing the rope used for enemy spawns. It's pretty difficult since you have a very short window between clearing out nearby enemies and climbing up, but it's doable since the bear commander's grenade launcher sucks.

Assault rifles in RE6 are the way they are because they'd be overpowered otherwise. Higher damage than pistols, natural piercing, and good critical chance., so they have to have limited reserves and wreck your accuracy rating. You are right about the cover system in RE6, but characters are so agile it doesn't really matter that much, which is why Mercs doesn't really use cover.

ORC enemies have got to be some of the spongiest ever.

Most of the time you're gunning down things in that game it doesn't even feel like you're doing any damage. Even the shotguns are underwhelming for christ sake, in a fucking Resident Evil game

Silly you. You must know that you have to use this.

Aww, shitwaffles. All I have is this.

I always found it amusing that one of the most powerful weapons in REmake is a .22 caliber derringer.

IIRC, the only weapons more powerful than it are Barry's Magnum and the friggin' Rocket Launcher at the end of the game.
