I'm having a bear of at time getting through on my phone to .st or the onion via tor, clearnet got nothing, but my job's network is cruising pretty good for clearnet .st, a few hiccups but nothing too bad

SERVFAIL from josh.rs, so that's definitely borked. But I get a valid response when I try kiwifarms.st. Then again I run my own DNS so I get the good results as soon as Null gets a new authoritative record set and it propagates out to the root servers.

Looks like he.net is still listed as the josh.rs NS, so may take longer for rs to move or Josh is just prioritizing other things.

How and why did they kill that? It really is quite insidious what they are able to get away with in plain sight. How does this fight the "harassment" of men in dresses again?

How: they convinced he.net(Hurricane Electric) that acting as a DNS server for the Terroristic Hate Site josh.rs (and kiwifarms) is bad.
Why: tranny whining.

What did they actually accomplish: very little, DNS servers are a dime a dozen. Admittedly then they can DDOS those too, so, whatever.

How does this all work:
The .rs domain registrar runs servers that point foo.rs to a set of DNS servers out in the world but themselves(the .rs servers) do not know the IP address of foo.rs. josh.rs was pointed to dns1-4.he.net, those servers would then tell you the IP address of josh.rs
he.net stopped that service for josh.rs. Josh has to tell the people running .rs to use a different set of DNS servers to provide the IP address of josh.rs
(Slightly simplified)

Oh so that was through HL? I didn't know that. I figured it wasn't related to CN or epik since it wasn't taken out already. That was the source of my confusion. I was wondering how all these things were happening at one time and wondering if it was part of a larger attack unrelated to CN or epik's actions. So it was a pure DNS based action. That shouldn't be too hard to deal with. Pretty fucked up that HL is being that petty as to block even DNS. This is a war of information, speech and public extermination.

The "why" part was more rhetorical. lol
