I too will chip in about 200$ or so, maybe a bit more.

I did not read the last 40 pages but a few things need to be considered first.

Currently 2200+ people voted here, most of which want to chip in.

Some say they're broke but want to chip in regardless. I am reasonably well off so a few hundred isnt a big blow to me.

But this is 75k, how close would we get if the average donation doesn't exceed 50$?

Not trying to doompost, just asking.
The forum is big and people here are motivated to see it continue. A few hundred people giving $100-$500 makes a big dent, add that to the few dozen who are going to give $1000+ and Josh will be there pretty quickly. I think a lot of people will be donating multiple times as they find more spare money to throw in the pot. Personally, I pledged what I know I can spare, but most likely it will be more. For myself perhaps double. There is no way to tell until Josh gets the fundraising site up and people start putting money to their words, but the enthusiasm has been high.

I predict the war chest reaches $125k before fundraising ends. May this be the first lawsuit of many.

Or if we use 1,294 instead of 2200

Many however pledged hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars.

Lolicon is not childporn and I'm pretty sure a retard with a catboy anime avatar paid to manage a social media account would agree with me.

Even then, sites like nhentai use cloudflare and I don't see anyone complaining about the content there.
Legally it is classed as child porn in countries such as Australia, UK, Canada, South Korea, France, among many other and that is where a issue could come from, unless the farms blocks users from those countries or bans lolicon. Even within USA it's not clear cut looking it up, with some saying it is against the law under PROTECT Act of 2003 or least how states interpret that law.

No doubt they are using this to go after the Farms for other reasons or they would go after real lolicon sites like you said. But this shit is such an legally gray area I wouldn't go ahead with this lawsuit without consulting with a few lawyers to make sure this isn't going backfire.

Just to throw some "verbal" support beyond the poll, 100% on board with donating. Big fan of the merch runs, and am willing to throw what I normally spend on those towards this.
Want to keep my 3rd favorite website online.

Then let's get Kiwi Farms officially labelled as the site that killed Epik.

Protip: if your enemy dies while you're fighting them, you win.
If we don't want other hosts to try and point at shit like what Epik said and use that as an excuse then we'll need to fight. I think this is worth chipping in for.

I don't exactly think they're in a position to be doing any of this.

Domains will make up a small portion of epiks revenue. They're really just a way to get a customer in the door before trying to sell them things like hosting, VPS/Dedis and other shit.

It's likely that Epik isn't a very healthy company, but they're also not surviving on ~100k per year in registrar profit lol.

If you put the emphasis on 'take' instead of 'we', it could mean "At first we did take the domain (without prompting from law enforcement), and then the US authorities came to us and said 'yeah you can't do that, if you don't want them as customers you have to help them switch registars.'"

In other words: "We were court ordered to not steal the domain" instead of " We were court ordered to take down KF".
I agree that this interpretation is linguistically possible but is it likely? Would US authorities do that? Would they have a reason to know that this was happening? Would Epik have reached out to them "hi, we want to steal this domain, can we do that?"? I suppose they would be referring to the US authorities coming down on them in general, not specifically about KF.

I do think it's probable that they will say "we were saying we wanted to take the domain but US law prevents us from doing that, so we followed the law, and here's proof that we helped the plaintiff transfer the domain" no matter what they originally actually meant by that tweet.

That still leaves the other tweets, and a judge could still say "you worded that very badly, then, and in the context of the other tweets a reasonable person might believe you suggested that you got rid of this client because US authorities told you to." But it's not a slam dunk.

And this is the thing. Legally speaking, your reputation is alot like a trademark. If you don't defend it, you lose it. If it becomes "commonly held belief" this is a CP forum, then its legally true, even if it's not factually true.

Still pretty indicative they're not doing very well in the profit department. Losing 20% of basically anything per quarter is not a good thing for any corporation.

Sending a money order, have to wait till next week though. Ive read i can put a bunk address in the sender name and address, or leave it blank. Is that right or do i have to dox myself?

EDIT: ive come across the same answer multiple times that i can leave the sender name and address blank. which is what i will do.

Yeah, I'm interested too, but only if it's 100% anonymous and untraceable.
I know there's already a thread about "Supporting KF", but is there more specifics on how to do this without self-doxing?

It's very frustrating to see how many people are like "yeah we're ride or die niggas but only if this shit can't be traced back to me like i'm buying children on wayfair naw sayin".

And then the kicker, "no I won't buy crypto wtf that's for criminals but yeah i'm willing to use my credit card it just has to be totally government proof".
