I always hear the CRTs are way better when it comes to input lag but never quite sure what games they mean.

I don't know about the DAC that you have but if you have a card with a DVI-I port then just buy a dumb plug for VGA and you're done, DVI-I can output the old analog signal, it's part of the specification. I think the latest and greatest GPU shipping with those connections would be the GTX 980Ti. It's not a bad GPU, I got curious and I'm looking at a chart showing that it plays GTA5@4k at 40fps versus the 44fps of the soon to be returning at an outrageous price RTX 2060.

This is the DAC I use https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0849FTBXQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details. Sadly I don't have a DVI-I output with my card, its an RTX 2070 super.

off topic but I brought a psx modded with a MayumiV4 Modchip for less than 50$. Checked their seller status and other auctions, seemed legit. I should be good now for playing burned psx games now, right?

1 - Probably pretty close. The guy they have doing their FPGAs is supposed to be the best at this sort of thing. However, I don't think any Byuu-type autist who knows all the corner cases of the hardware has ever really tested any of the Analogue FPGA consoles. By all indications they play games fine though. And handhelds in general seem to be much less topsy-turvy hardware-wise than consoles to begin with, so the job is easier.
2 - No, original cartridges only.

The appeal of it is to have one handheld with a decent screen that will play all Gameboy games, plus other unpopular systems like Game Gear and Neo Geo Pocket (in case you want to replicate the experience of placing 4th at Evo 2005). If you can manage to get a Pocket for retail price, it's probably cheaper than getting your GBA modded.
 
New post but I like going to flea markets like a middle aged house wife plus one of our shelters has this warehouse with TONS of shit. Intended on looking for a VCR today but found another TV. Sadly not S-video, for the life of me I cannot find any of those in our town but this was still an interesting find:

I've given up on finding a setup with s-video. Every single set online will go for hundreds of dollars and doesn't seem worth it. What I can't play in RGB I'll just deal with in composite. Oh no.

I've wanted to write a long thread about how bsnes is honestly pretty much shit and SNES9X is much, much better from a practicality standpoint, but I'll have to go super saiyan with my autism to get all my thoughts about it on paper. I've read through a shitload of Byuu's writings about bsnes, how it came to be, why it exists, and how it works, and my conclusion is that it's just a colossal load of bullshit. Byuu made himself out to be a rockstar in a whole niche that didn't have a single rockstar. The entire MAME project is the biggest emulation project in the world, but MAME's developers aren't a bunch of narcissistic attention whores who had to call attention to themselves any chance they got. Also, Byuu's tangentially related to Retroarch, in that it started out as a fork of bsnes. So, Byuu's more or less a major reason why the entire emulation scene is as autistic as it is. Not that there aren't other lolcows; there's one guy whose been an insufferable faggot for a long, long time that I won't name publicly yet, because I'm sure he namesearches himself.
