I've seen Nintendofags elsewhere scream that this is a fake quote that's out of context, but the full context doesn't really make what Miyamoto said any less stupid.

He still claimed that new games make old games obsolete, and that "video content" in contrast endures forever (given the context and wording, I'm not sure if he's talking about movies or just videos of games at their museum, but it's retarded either way). The whole thing is effectively him saying that he wants Nintendo to use its IPs in non-video game contexts to proselytize the Nintendo brand to people. Look at the last sentence, he's pretty much saying he doesn't want kids to think about what games they want to buy, he wants to make it so their parents will simply buy them the newest Nintendo consoles and games because they're Nintendo.
