Thompson. What exactly is it that Ruben sees in this guy? Watching the film kinda reinforced for me what a tool Reuben is, trying to pass off his shitty attempt at coercing a confession out of a mentally abnormal individual under the guise of a "recognized form of alternative investigation" which in practice seemed to simply be being an asshole on a lot of drugs.

I wonder what Hunter S. Thompson would write if he was tasked today with reporting on GamerGate.

I don't think his orientation particularly matters. He's a hideous caveman, so the only action he's getting is with a hollowed-out canteloupe heated up in the microwave.

If you leave this video running in another tab, the rapid-fire stuttering makes it sound like you've been sent back in time to 2007 and Youtube is constantly lagging out every two seconds as it buffers on a dial-up internet connection.

Especially cringey for me. Minus the stutter (and hopefully the boring), I have that same sort of nerdy drawl. Granted, mine is an RP/public school English nerdy drawl, which makes me classier than Reuben's NY hipster nerdy drawl. But the overall timbre of my voice is strikingly similar to Reuben's.

And now I am feeling deeply ashamed. G-d damn you, Reuben. This is all your fault.

My favorite MST3K of all time! And you're right, Reuben would be perfect. There's just something about him that screams to be incompetently filmed in day-for-night.

He's far too involved to give a proper interview, even if there was another one it'd probably just go like the last one with Ruben trying to get Jan to admit he needs to go to jail for threatening Wu as well as repeating everything in those Gamergate articles against Jan.
