Most new arcade data is on nyaa. Or if you're lucky, you can download it off of onlyone.cab if you were able to get an account. Dunno how bemani discord shit is now, I haven't been in the scene in years. The pop'n music community is hilarious, it's mostly people who never touched the game and obsess over one or two characters. I've been wanting to get back into pop'n again, but gamo2's controllers are pretty damn expensive. Would like to know how to run it and IIDX on a Linux distro, but I'm not sure of the steps how to do it because the documentation is really poor.
Taiko's really fun, it introduced me to rhythm games. I have a soft spot for the Wii and PSP games especially.

I'll have to check the bemania discord, only ones i really use are the Furu and Approved DTX for gitadora file shares. Yeah Gamo's stuff is fucking expensive its gonna cost me about $600 just to get Gitaller shipped with the dollar being so bad worth it though.
Will never be as impressive, commendable and difficult as this.
I miss the freestyling guys they always had fun with it, way better then reading a 1000 notes a second.

There's "Moving Slow" and then there's "moving at a glacial pace"

It's tough to cope with the fact that people are more nostalgic towards Butterfly and have no idea who's Captain Jack.
That's because Smile.dk basically made DDR. Since the first game, that song has been in almost every DDR before Konami killed their partnership with Dancemania. DDRMAX/DDRMAX2 are the only pre-SuperNova titles that it doesn't appear in (unless you count the Substream Club and Solo games). Post-SuperNova, it got brought back in X3 vs 2nd Mix and an different X-Mix for DDRX. It was even in the fucking gameboy game. The US would eventually get it in Ultramix 3 and then the Upswing version in DDRExtreme2

Captain Jack wasn't a thing until 3rd mix, and nobody in the US even knew who he was until My Generation (Fat Beat Mix) got added to PS2 DDRMAX (unless you were heavy in the arcade scene back then). it wasn't until DDRMAX2 when they decided to push him heavily until SuperNova after his death. There's still a couple songs of his that never got a US appearance like "The Race", "Little Boy (Boy On Boy Mix)"(which probably would have NEVER seen the light of day in the US anyway due to how anal the censorship was even back then) "Drill Instructor (C-jah Happy Mix)" and "Odoru Pompokolin".

Yo, Hi-Fi rush is pretty baller so-far. The normie thing to say rn is "It's guitar heroXDMC", but that's not too far off. The humor isn't anything too special as far as I can tell, but it's not hyper-grating dialogue. This gameplay tho is near-perfect. fast paced DMC style-meter combat, big move pool, supers etc, all set to a beat. It's also got dynamic music ala DMC5 it seems. and I'm a sucker for it.

Hi-Fi rush is really tempting me, has a strong saturday morning cartoon energy to it that had me smilling at the bits I saw and I do like my rythm games (though Patapon has been making me feel like I lost my mojo...)

Apparently it has some similar aspects to it as God Hand

I beat HiFi Rush, highly recommend if you enjoy these types of action games and want a rhythm twist on it. The combat design is exceptional and a cut above most midbudget action games, even ignoring the whole rhythm game aspect which is the cherry on top. That said it's a weird fucking game, a real east meets west thing. It has the melee action and game design only Asian devs seem to able to execute well but the art style and writing is very modern day Hollywood in all the worst ways possible. Which checks out if you look around the credits. Lots of Japanese names in the game design parts and English names in the creative/concept sections.

The main male character is an idiot who only does anything correct by dumb luck and relies heavily on the main female character to lead him through the world. Said female character also being your run of the mill girlboss who literally has that stupid fucking haircut where there is hair is on one side of her head and the other side is shaved. And of course the setup for the story is about how a genius woman made a world saving tech company but her son inherited it and turned it into a comically evil megacorp.

I rolled my eyes at it at first but there is a lot of dialogue for an action game and it wears out its welcome pretty fast. I'd say just skip the cutscenes, you aren't missing anything.

This Sudospective faggot, even after typing up a novel, really wasn't saying anything. All I got out of it was that people got banned, he was afraid, and he wants the community to change but he doesn't specifically say WHAT, HOW, or WHY? He barely even gives a WHO because he's "not trying to defame any specific member".

This just comes off as attention whoring. I bet he was acting like a sped, and the community told him to go fuck himself, and that's the story I'm sticking with until I see some actual evidence or a better story.
