Rick and Morty

R&M was always of varying quality, the highs just used to be higher. The bad episodes in the later episodes aren't much worse than the shitty ones in older ones.

For me, I don't think R&M had bad episodes until the third season. I like only 5/6 out of the 10 episodes that came out in Season 3.

Why is Adult Swim Canada (and probably also Adult Swim U.S. I guess?) airing five new episodes of Rick and Morty starting at 11:30pm on a Sunday night, as if nobody watching has class at 8 a.m. on Monday morning?

I'm too far in to this episode to quit now but I'm having to DVR the rest because Adult Swim couldn't do this half-season marathon on Saturday night.

EDIT: Wait, is Rick and Morty pulling a Haruhi Suzumiya "Endless Eight" stunt or is it just the same episode being repeated over and over? The promos had me believe it was to be five new episodes, which didn't actually make sense for late Sunday evening/early Monday morning, so I'm not complaining if I'm not missing anything else.

I don't have cable so I have to wait for someone to put it on one of those shady streaming sites

Adult Swim Canada only started in April, this is the first season of Rick and Morty that Canadians can watch "live" without having to resort to shady streaming sites.

@sasazuka @Uncanny Valley

Apparently the whole episode is just on their website free to watch lol

  • Morty nearly toppling the US line of defense using Rick's gadgets and weapons
  • Jab at SJWs using a hologram Rick
  • Reference to anime and Kira
  • Usual season premiere stuff at the end

Because their target audience are college students.

If we're talking weak to bad episodes:
Season one: The pilot and "Raising Gazorpazorp"
Season two: "Auto Erotic Assimilation," "Get Schwifty," "Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate," "Look Who's Purging Now"
And then most of season 3. I think the show gets a pass by having a funny B plots cover for awful A plots, which is something that doesn't hold up well.

I disagree. I think the A plots are way better than the B plots. The B plots are mostly boring. The only funny B-plots are Meeseeks, Dumb Rick, and Jerry Daycare.

I liked the Keep Summer safe bit, and the alien couple therapy but I guess it works either way with my point. A large number of the episodes are painfully lopsided, buttressing amusing against garbage.

I think they even know it given that seasons 2 and 3 actually upped the number of anthology/clip episodes to 2 which tends to even out the episode, though I don't think it's enough.

Overall I think it was weak. It felt like season 3 on an average. It had a couple of good moments, but by and large it felt like a entitled paste eater trying to make something "Rick and Morty"y.
