Rick and Morty

Actually a pretty decent episode that got a couple chuckles out of me. I liked that it was its own self-contained adventure while still referencing the continuity of the previous season, like the pretty funny gag at the beginning where Rick had to ask permission to bring Morty on an adventure. Another underrated joke was the "there's a lesson here somewhere, but I'm not going to be the one to figure it out." I do hope that at least one episode is about the Evil Morty cliffhanger, though.

I finally watched the season 4 premiere.

It was okay. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Nowhere near the best that the show has offered though.

I actually felt like this could have been two episodes as I loved the premises (Morty being addicted to the Death Crystal and Rick being reincarnated in different universes) but because they had to split time between each other, maybe they didn't get the time they needed to be fully fleshed out.

But it got some laughs out of me. I started to roll my eyes when Rick and Morty were doing the "Rick and Morty for a 100 years" schtick again at the end of the episode, but Summer actually saved the bit, so just as I was ready to crap on it, they actually made it work. Good job Summer, lol.

This show is back? There has been zero hype this time around. I didn't think Season 3 was that bad.

I really enjoyed the new episode. Seeing Morty be more assertive and blunt but still be Morty was fun. And that ending was Rick reminds me of how he felt at the end of the Unity episode, just with a goofier setting.

I felt like this episode had the same problem as the first where it tried to do too much.

Rick trying to hunt down the guy that used his personal super awesome toilet is the perfect petty thing for him to do, and the whole dating app thing destroying the world also works as a neat idea for an episode. However, considering the app plotline got split off into Morty/Jerry and Summer/Beth adventures and Rick was off doing his own thing in his own story, it made the episode feel bloated and fragmented.

I feel like the app story with the Smiths and Rick's toilet detective story could have been two separate episodes. It actually would have been kind of neat to see almost an entire episode without Rick as the family deals with the mess without him around, and it would have been cool to see Rick by himself for a full episode.

Actually, as Rick's toilet story got under way, did anybody else think they were going to do a thing where Rick stayed silent the entire episode? Initially the scene was so quiet and without dialogue, so I thought maybe we'd see Rick silently track the dude down. It makes sense as without Morty by his side, he has no reason to jaw jack and show off, and it could have been a chance for the show to see how much it could get out of Rick without dialogue.

Huh, I just realized something interesting...both episodes so far have featured a person still grieving/dealing with the death of their spouse. I wonder if this season will reveal what happens with Rick’s wife.

Then again, both episodes also featured a giant Rick at some point; so who knows.

I'm actually kind of shocked with the names they got for this episode.

Sam Neill, Kathleen Turner and Jeffrey Wright in a show where an alcoholic scientist goes on a rampage because someone used his shitter, one of the names being the one who used said shitter.

And what about that game you shouldn’t tell your girlfriend about?
Ironically, my girlfriend actually told me about that one. It’s apparently a pretty sub-standard erotic game, but it steals your personal information and threatens to tell your girlfriend if you don’t make monthly payments to it. So, not worth it in my opinion.

Wait does it actually do that?
