He seems completely incapable of just shutting it off for five fucking minutes. You want to speculate on why network tv is so lousy today, by all means, go ahead. You want to argue that it's because different political crowds gravitate toward certain media rather than others, hey, go for it. All in good fun. But since this is Bob, there has to be sneering insults toward the Wasteland Ghouls. Those fuckers can't get anything right, huh? Don't vote the right way, don't pursue the right businesses, don't believe the right things about religion -- man, they can't even watch the right thing on their electronic amusement boxes! Just proves how much better and smarter ol' Bob is.
I know we occasionally compare Bob to Chris with Mario standing in for Sonic. But Bob goes long stretches without even mentioning Mario. He apparently can't even breathe without popping off his idiot political opinions in grotesquely offensive ways. That's his real obsession, although whether it's genuine political interest or just angry groping for a bludgeon to attack all the strawmen he hates, who can tell?
