Punch Drunk love is really good. He is very weird in that movie. Take Sandler from any other of his films. And then let him play the same in a drama. He is really damn weird and creepy.

If he didn't have the attitude of a four-year-old with an incurable tumblr addiction and didn't allow his biases to corrupt his reviews, I'd be a life-long viewer. As it is, I find him more of a tragic figure than one worthy of mockery. A classic case of early fame going straight to the head, leading to a truly monstrous level of self-delusion. It's a cautionary tale for anybody interested in a similar line of work, be they professional or amateur.

That said, watching his book get repeatedly sporked is hilarious. Anybody know if he has ever directly commented on it post-publication, and the general reaction to it?

I've watched a few of his earlier vids, amd i gotta say he wasnt half bad. He was pretty decent at picking things apart and discussing them. But that all went straight out the window in favor of "THIS IS NOT HOW I WANT THINGS TO BE! THIS IS NOT MARIO 3, THIS IS DESTROYING GAMER CULTURE!"

@Foltest hit it right on the nail- people hate it and it's a terrible read unless you're reading it to make fun of it. The whole thing feels like he just wants to perform fellatio on Mario with the way he praises him.

And I am sorry for giving you guys that mental image.

MovieBob is someone I've heard about via DSP.txt and Andrew Dobson, but I've never bothered to look more into the guy, but the impression I got is that he's a very fucking obnoxious SJW hypocrite.


Unfortunately Howard was praising him for "eviscerating" the movie and how "brutal" he was doing it, but I did hear some laughing in the background from Robin as they played the audio and also Howard wanted to know who was he and shit. She also said "he probably hates everything, so it gets him attention" and when they told her he liked Mad Max, she got some more digs at MovieBlob there.
