How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

He wants to see a kid suffer because he ...read some books? Is it because he didn't have Brick by Brick on his reading list? I know Bob hates everything, but I don't get this one.

I don't understand this sudden retroactive hate for Shenmue. First Jim Sterling and his fans, and now Moviebob. Did some "alt-righter" tweet about it? Did something happen involving the development of Shenmue 3? I'm not trying to be funny, I really don't get it. It's like they woke up one morning and decided "You know this almost 20 year old Dreamcast game people like? We hate it now."
Shenmue is a deeply flawed game held back by the constraints of its time, but it does its damndest to present a story within a flowing and realistic world and people love it as a cult classic because of that. There’s nuance to why people love it and that’s probably why Bob and Sterling hate it.
Tolkien is a staunch christian both metaphysically and philosophically critical of industrialization and admires the common mans basic decency, he's also dismissive on intellect being the same as wisdom. If anything it's impressive Bob took this long to rationalize lotr (a movie where a wizard fights a giant demon) as 'boring'.
LotR is also one of the most culturally relevant works of writing across the world, since it has inspired or influenced nearly all high fantasy produced within the last 50 years, be it writing, comics, tabletop rpgs, old school JRPGs, western RPGs or animation.

The fact that bob thinks he needs to come to the defense of LotR becuase some clickbait rag is dissing the Hollywood adaptations his hubris and pride are acting up again.

If you don't like Lord of the Rings, you're a bad person who also has bad taste.
I hate LOTR movies. For me they are too long, too overblown and empty husks pursuing some kind of grandiose meaning that comes across as middle ages fantasy jerking (I hate said era of history). But I understand its just my opinion. It could be wrong. But who would want an homogeneous society with no dissenting opinion (besides MovieFuhrer).

I imagine some English scholars would argue otherwise, but I see Tolkien as influential to the English canon as William Shakespeare. Obviously more impactful than Bob's favored Mario or Marvel.

Is a 1700+ page and growing thread here worth it too?

Between Sony and Bob, you have to wonder who has worse ideas.

BONUS: Oh so that's why he has money problems, he spends it on stupid bullshit like this:

Oh, so he's rehashing Kevin Smith's argument from 2006?
It was an autistic argument then, and it's autistic now. I personally find the Lord of the Rings movies (and source material) a hell of a lot more engaging than Marvel Property #77.

I hate to defend Bob, but he didn't write it, he dredged up and clearly criticized an article from six years ago.

If you wanna come at Bob, at least learn how to read.

Getting mad and insulting people who choose not to vote is not a good method to encourage change, Blobbo but you’re extremely stupid and naive so wouldn’t expect anything less.

I’m so glad I never hear or see political ads anymore (don’t watch cable tv and use Spotify/SiriusXM). I used to care about politics but it’s exhausting. I’d rather spend my energy on my family and hobbies than having autistic twitter fights and meltdowns over tranny/immigration laws like Blobbo and crew.

Don't forget mean. Of all Bob's peculiarities, I think this is the one that makes him such a despicable lolcow. The delusions of grandeur make you shake your head, the bonkers ideas and the weird fixation on Mario are genuinely funny, but when he sneers down at all those he considers beneath him (and there are so many), that's when he gets your dander up.

Shenmue is from Sega. They're Bob's Viet Cong, don't ya know.

Not gonna lie, I didnt watch the video. Because Bobs video's are terrible.
I also didn't watch the video, because I don't care, and my statement is not limited to whatever Bob's opinion might be, which is why I didn't "come at" him specifically by name. He can fuck off for any number of other reasons.

"Learn how to read."
What video are you talking about?

That I get. What I don't get is why now. If it was in the news or some popular YouTuber talked about it, that would make sense. But I've not seen anything, and I thought I might have missed something. It would be like if Dobson, Wu, and their fans suddenly started tweeting snide remarks about Space Channel 5 being shit apropos of nothing. It could simply be that Jim played it, his sycophantic fanbase nodded in agreement, and then Bob picked up on that, or even just a coincidence.

The theory about it being related to Yakuza was interesting, but I'm not sure I buy that particular theory because I've not heard any Yakuza news recently that would make them want to take jabs at it via Shenmue.

Whatever video was being referenced, seems like it was actually an article. Either way again I didn't say anything about Bob and I've been on and off planes and busses through three countries for the past eighteen hours running on like two hours of sleep so with all due respect, get fucked dude

I too hope for PeliculaRoberto to replace you.

If nothing else, the phrase "butthurt Butta Face" rolls off the tongue.

It was re-released on Steam recently so a lot of Internet personalities either revisited it or played it for the first time. Bob is just jumping on a bandwagon.
