"As a child I wanted to join the Air Force because I thought it was just like Starfleet."
Hopefully you are not a child any more.
To be entirely fair 80% of Star trek did involve them sitting in chairs for the whole time just like the real Air Force.

That's what made the series work, you knew shit was going down if they got up out of their chair.

These posers have no idea about MACO do they?
You know the actual SPACE FORCE that Earth had before the creation of the federation and integration into Starfleet?
200

They had Camo as their uniform just like Space Force, and were instrumental for their security for the fledgling Enterprise NX-01

But surprisnly, their technology was supposed to be advanced ahead of other races too. Maybe forming a Space Force early in the 2020s was a good idea 100 years later. The rough and tumble MACO became important for when they eventually joined Starfleet.

(Yes, its from Enterprise which came out wayyy in 2003, but it was also was the unit that Idris Elba came from from the actually good Star Trek movie, Star Trek Beyond.)
Nerdout ends here.

And in real life, most civilian/peaceful technology follow Military Tech, so this may lead to more of a civilian entrance beyond SpaceX, etc.

I find it funny how Blobbo tries to insist the perfect future won't rely on physical strength yet he boasts about his physical strength ("I'M A SURVIVALIST") or combat skills whenever anyone makes fun of how he's a privileged asshole who acts like they are better than the "disposable" working class despite never working a blue collar job in his life.

The reason he wouldn’t make it that far at a blue collar job is his attitude and lack of maturity

Back during Dubya's presidency, I recall the beginning of the Constellation program, a new space mission to replace the aging Space Shuttle fleet with higher-power rockets that could return us to the Moon and eventually to Mars, with a planned Moon landing in 2020. I was really excited at the time and couldn't wait to see my first Moon landing.

Guess which president decided to shitcan the whole thing in 2010? I suppose we needed more money for bank bailouts.

To be fair, I don't claim to know the full story behind the death of the Constellation program. Maybe it truly was running over budget, maybe a 2020 Moon landing wasn't feasible, maybe there was a better way. And despite the shelving of lunar landing plans, development did continue on the Space Launch System, though NASA sure didn't get a lot of funding for it. But what I do know is that under Trump's leadership, the Artemis program has been pushed up with a planned Moon landing in 2024. Trump knows the value of thinking big, and what could be bigger than presiding over our first lunar landing in over 50 years? Assuming he wins reelection, of course, but with the current Democrat field, that seems pretty likely.

But of course, leftists can't give Trump credit for anything, even if it's more or less exactly what they want. So even though we're (hopefully) four years away from a Moon landing, they'll screech and complain that it's tainted by Orange Bad Man. Meanwhile, the rest of us will be excited for the historic event, and we won't hear them screaming into the void over the sound of our own celebrations.

Oh, and by the way, you might not have noticed, but we don't live in a utopia. Sometimes, things get violent, and that necessitates action, not peaceful exploration. Quit basing your desires for reality on a fucking TV show.

SLS remains a horribly problem ridden development and is way behind schedule. Although the newer capsules are coming along nicely. The biggest difference with the US return to the moon will be the way we do it. They won't be carrying the Lander with them like in Apollo. Instead they will be assembling a reusable staging base in lunar orbit, that can support several landers and capsules at once. Sort of a smaller scale ISS. Something more akin to Mir. They assemble it in earth orbit, then send it on a TLI and Lunar Insertion Burn. The Artemis crews than meet up with it hop in a lander and head on down. The orbiting mini station would also serve as a lunar com relay so they wouldn't have the blackout periods. The only downside is it is hard to keep things in orbit around the moon. The moons gravitational pull unlike earth is not a constant. It has some surprisingly wide variations as you pass over it. This plays havoc with anything meant to sit in a long term orbit of the moon and invariably causes them to crash unless they do periodic course corrections and altitude burns. So a lunar orbit station would need to be periodically topped up with fuel. much like the ISS.

Luke is, as usual, an idiot. Cities are filled with the debris of humanity because there are always shitloads of people who can't or won't recognize that their own failures are self-made and think that being in a richer area will make them richer, as if by osmosis. People like Luke himself. These people are of course the ones most likely to abuse kids.
Cities are also the best places for nasty people to go to hide in the mass of humanity. The best places for serial killers, sex traffickers (including child sex traffickers), kidnappers, etc. to ply their trades is a big city.

Now, I could be mistaken, but it seems to me that those who romanticize life in the cities have those dreams shattered much faster and at a higher rate than those who romanticize life in the country. City life is great for those at the top, but for all the plebs beneath, you've got cramped living spaces with exorbitant rent, jobs that likely don't pay well enough to help you move up in the world, crime, homelessness, filth, and all other problems that arise from packing millions of people into a small area.
It's not like small town people going to the big city with dreams of fame and fortune only to find out it actually sucks, nobody cares about you, and your career prospects are bleak, is an extremely popular song theme or anything.

He would probably hate inner city living. Mass transit is balls and he'd be bitching about the drivers being late or weirdos on the bus or train. If you don't live in a single family house(which are tiny as fuck in the city) you have to deal with apartment or condo living. In apartment and condo living you have to routinely deal with the other residents and interact with them, there's also routine meetings for a condo association which bob would need to take part in. It's almost entirely out of his wheelhouse since he stays cooped up in his basement and screams at people online.

Also if he smokes or vapes most places have that banned because the smoke would seep through the vents into other condos or apartments. All the high end million dollar condos have these rules and there's no backing out of them. Condo Associations are no different than HOAs, they just tend to be a bit more personal because everyone is living in a smaller space. Bob being as anti-social as he is, I could see him quickly making enemies of most people and especially when the association has elections where they elect new board members and Ol'Robert thinks he can powergrab by acting like an ass thinking he can single handedly allow the rules to let him do as he pleases.

Does Bob care about non-American politics? He's probably going to talk about it if his idols do and they'll be annoyed with him for knowing even less about European politics than he does American.
If I remember he recently said something along the lines that Harry and his mongrel wife will become the exiled prince who returns and saves the kingdom from some great evil.

There is no evil in the United Caliphate: People are fully convinced that biology is incompatible with human dignity, "Asians" are happily raping kids while troons are busy creating the next generation of neutered sex toys.

In a rare moment of self-awareness, Robert being a male feminist admits that it's ok to be sexist towards women he disagrees with.
