To quote Mr. Nigel Farage they had

"The Charisma of a damp rag."

Insofar as I was there it was kind of a chore to listen to them particularly closely. Granted the crowd was made up of social maladjusts that were happy to cling to details anyhow.
I'm really curious how his panel talk sounds different from his video. Does he still rapid fire words? Does he try to pepper his sentences with the shredded remains of a thesaurus? Or does he hem and haw a lot? Could he even pretend to be normal?

Re: crowd size: I suppose I was a little pithy last night, but it was getting late and I felt snarky. Obviously I'm under no illusions that I'd be able to do any better, and odds are I'd be lucky to get more than a few people to attend a panel I was hosting. My remarks were mostly in regards to Bob's delusions of grandeur, that after doing this as his job for over a decade he can only manage to roughly half-fill a smaller conference room at one of the largest gaming conventions. When he described that as having enough "cred" to "fill a room," I couldn't help but laugh.

And I'll give Chris credit, I'm sure he was nervous about his first time doing something like this, so I commend him for getting out of his comfort zone. Just that in the future, maybe consider not doing the "angry old gamer" schtick. In a video, that can be edited into something amusing, but in person, it feels more like "Old Man Yells at Cloud." Stick to discussing things you love and avoid complaining about how every game nowadays is a dudebro shooter.

By big crowd, Bob meant the average size of the individual attendees.

It was similar to his videos but he was clearly expecting reactions from the audience. Further, I think the expectations he had for how much people would laugh/cheer/etc. were exaggerated. As much as he tried to be engaging it kind of came off as arrogant/droll.

Which is kinda funny in a way, since Nintendo havent really made any good shit, save for Breath of the Wild and I could strain Mario Oddesy and Animal Crossing, in a long time. Like, there arent any new Starfox or even Metroid games to speak off. For as much Bobo and his dimwitted bro love to claim how games have less variety, Nintendo is more guilty of this shit than anything.
F-Zero has been dead since the GameCube, though part of me wants it to stay that way given how Nintendo has mishandled Metroid (Other M, Federation Force), StarFox (endless remakes with tacked on gimmicks), and Fire Emblem (Treehouse re-writing the games to replace the story with memes and bad jokes).

And then there's the lack of new IP. Back in 2008-2012 the argument from Nintendo fans was to point at Phoenix Wright and Wii Sports as new examples of new Nintendo IP, but Wii Sports was back at the Wii's launch, and Phoenix Wright was a Capcom game. Even Mario Maker was a rip off of the fan game Fullscreen Mario.

I could continue complaining about Nintendo, but I won't because I don't buy Nintendo and that won't change until they give me a reason to give a shit. I was burned when the Wii ditched the hardcore in favor of casuals and nostalgia pandering. I feel I got my monies worth from the 3DS, but there was some wasted potential there. All of Nintendo's consoles since have been "gimmick to try and get Wii-mania to strike again, and when that fails pander to nostalgic Gen-X gamers like Bob to keep the lights on until the next console".

And to hammer the final nail into that coffin. Bob hates Metroid almost as much as he hates Yoshi's Island, because it's a FPS now.

Nintendo has essentially relied solely on their own properties since the Gamecube came out. And even with that, they haven't done a great job at maintaining a majority of their properties. Things like Star Fox, F-Zero and Mario Party have all fallen to the wayside. They're trying to revive Metroid with a new Prime game, but that unfortunately has had a whole bunch of issues. New properties like Chibi-Robo have failed to gain traction, though they did find a surprising hit with Animal Crossing. Even something as big and as enshrined into pop culture like Pokemon is now looks like it's going downhill.

I would say that with the Switch that they've at least tried to reverse that and move forward in a better direction, displaying more interest in building up third-party games for their systems. But they still have a long way to go in that department.

Bob refuses to criticize Nintendo because he's blinded by his nostalgic love for it. He really thinks that if Nintendo still isn't the best when it comes to video games then that devalues his childhood experiences.

Oh man blockbuster, remember blockbuster, don't you miss blockbuster?
This whole Blockbuster fetishizing thing is one of the more disgusting bits of consoomerism that's cropped up recently. They were a soulless garbage corporation that put tons of cool little local rental places out of business and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was thrilled to see them go down in flames. Say what you will about James Rolfe and the Screenwave fatties, but that aesthetic they try for in the Rental Review setting is much closer to what a lot of people remember from that time period. A documentary about the heyday of those little mom and pop rental places would actually be pretty interesting if the right people did it.

I haven't been to a PAX or other vidya tradeshows - mostly because I have had sex. But I have ask, does anyone under age 30 attend? And are you allowed to have a BMI under 25 when you enter?

We used to make fun of fat chunkasaurases plodding around Disneyworld and such, but at least those fat fuckers were outside, getting some walking and fresh air. This PAX thing looks like what you'd imagine the Ayyys would put together as their human finishing barn.

Are PAX panels recorded? Or did Bob and Chris record this so Bob can upload it to his channel? I'm actually curious to see what these two are like in public.
I checked the PAX Twitch, and I didn't find anything for them. Only for D&D and the main stage.
That being said, PAX is ongoing through the weekend. Maybe an attendee will upload their recording, or Bob will once PAX ends.

lol you can't fool me! If you had sex you'd know how great it was and would still be having it instead of keeping up with one Bob Chipman. As an Arch Wizard who's given up an eye to be able to read the tism runes, I recognize one of my own.

I'll be a little autistic here
Nintendo has done more than nostalgia, one of the best selling games to come out for the switch was splatoon 2 a franchise that started on the Wi-U. They tried with arms and occasionally try to put out a new IP that don't sell. You are also forgetting the third party companies that are exclusively nintendo which brings franchises like pokemon, bayoneta, Fire emblem and kirby onto their system. They've actually done a great job of supporting companies and giving funding for exclusivity. From Demon X Machina to Untitled goose simulator they are helping in the production of niche titles from game genres considered dead to consoles. Theres also smash bros which I'm kind of surprised nobody mentioned. By no means does nintendo beat P.C. but they definitely have a better selection then the X box or the play-station.

I mean yeah I'm being a fagot about this since nintendo is getting lazier with each new game in a franchise. see pokemon, I mean hell we don't even have a new mariokart for the switch. They have shelved franchises like metroid out of fear of failure or inability to understand what made that game good. They've also refrained from lootboxes or microtransactions from their main games so you know that's always a solid plus. You can still hate them for picking weaker consoles and relying on gimicks to sell their systems but you can't in good faith say they have nothing to offer past mario and zelda.

All that being said there's not a chance in hell that Blobos love of nintendo is due to anything other then an autistic atachment to a brand in desperate need of a kick to the groin. He likes that it's popular and loves the fact that he picked the side in the console wars that won. He loves the fact that Nintendo is loved by the woke P.C. crowd and that certain games are bending to the will of western audiences, see fire emblemb three houses. He's also sunk too much emotional energy into it to let nintendo be anything other than perfect. Think about it if Nintendo isn't the mesiah of game companies then he's the dick for skiping out on a funeral to play mario.

Pokemon can't be third party and Nintendo at the same time.
