I was in a funeral service 2 weeks ago, small group, and I didn't stay long, since I was just a friend of the family I only gave my condolences and left, but funeral services are working just fine as long as there isn't a lot of gathering.

The hell is wrong with people? this social distancing stuff is to avoid large groups of people, but small groups in a organized fashion, people can meet if they are taking care of themselves.

As I said, he never left. Childhood has left him but he never left childhood.

Everything looks better in retrospect than it actually was. The negative emotions associated with memories fade over time, and we end up feeling nostalgic for experiences that were actually awful. And because childhood memories are the oldest things we can remember, they get more of that effect than memories of any other time. That said, Bob's childhood was genuinely better than his adulthood in several ways, not that he realized any of them at the time:

• Bob wasn't obsessed with hateful left-wing identity politics, which has clearly made him miserable while bloating his already-oversized ego.
• Bob's virginity had not yet come to bother him. Kids don't obsess over not being able to get laid.
• People are nicer to kids, even fat bad-tempered autistic kids, than they are to hideous hate-filled fat autistic manchildren.

So I agree with you that he was actually miserable as a kid, but partly because he didn't realize how good he really had it at the time. Of course, he can't turn back the clock on any of the things I mentioned, except for the identity politics and he doesn't want to turn the clock back on that one.
