There's no real point to Bob's tweet. Yes, Bob -- it is snowing in October. What is your point? Why make such a banal observation to so many people?

EDIT: And it also strikes me that the tweet went out to people who very likely have no idea what the weather is like near Boston. There's a missing " ...and that is unusual where I live." which can be assumed when you're talking to a neighbor, but cannot be assumed if you're talking to an audience scattered so wide that some of them have been riding Sno-Cats to work since September and others have never seen snow in their lives.

Shouldn't belabor a minor point, but there's some level of toxic provincialism there, as though he forgot who he was talking to.
