Also, if I remember correctly, creators of characters like Bayonetta make the character's sexuality ambiguous, because they want to focus on the action and not who makes out with who. You know, typical video game logic.
Now only if more people didn't focus on who or what fictional characters want to bang, just focus on the story, gameplay, etc. for once.
Funny thing about Bayonetta, I would say it isn't that sexual to begin with, much less being "agressive" about it.
Oh yeah, it shows Bayonetta getting PG-13 naked, pole dancing and spreading her legs, and I'm sure a 13 year old can beat up for that, since 13 year olds can pretty much masturbate for anything.
But does juvenile animu fanservice really counts for being "sexual", or aggressively so for that matter? Because aside from some tame double entendre jokes that couldn't even make a nun blush, both Bayonetta has very little do about sex or any sexual tension.
As far as we know, Bayonetta ain't getting any dick or pussy, nor seems interested in both. She sure likes being "sexy", but nothing indicates she wants it. Closest thing she has to a romantic relationship is with Luka, and the games play it as a goofball comedy, and on the second game it is non-existent. There is also some lesbo bait with Jeanne, except not really, the game have them posing in sexual ways, but nothing about their relationship indicates they are fucking or that they want to.
And obviously you don't need a story to spell out sexual tension, more so a game with paper thin plot like the Bayonettas games, but unlike Robert, I did play both games and not once I felt like any of these characters had any sort real sex drive becuase it was obviously never Platinium's real intention of being "sexual", same way some goof ball Shonen jump manga that has the obligatory open air bath scene isn't being sexual.
And there are games that do explores the sexuality of the characters, not a lot that I know of, because games are usually about action, but some games do that, Silent Hill 2 and Xenogears come to mind.
Regardless, it is already pretty embarassing confusing kiddie fanservice with real sexuality, but if all you do is consume media targeted at teens, I can see how you can come across the idea how those goofy Bayonetta games can be "sexual", but saying this shit at 40, that is embarrasing.
