It got worse in the 2010s but it's more a result of the Morrison run and the FOX movies having weird morality. Since the X-Men were being treated as a mutant only club that only associates with other mutants and the mixed messages of doing "Minority allegory" and "Next stage of evolution" at the same time. Comes and goes but the X-Men are kinda stuck in a rut of basically being supremacists like Magneto except they believe it's inevitable and not worth killing humans. Even though this is not how it works and mutants can even have non-mutant offspring, the X-gene has been part of humanity since the time the Celestials encountered Homo Erectus and started their experiments that the potential for powers sprang from, if they were taking over the world then it would've happened by now.Wasn't a lot of that due to Marvel's head more or less wanting to "kill off" the X-Men franchise and mutants in general, and wasn't that solely to whittle away the value of the franchise so they could get the movie rights back from Fox?
The argument about Superman being an immigrant is the dumbest thing, because outside of his adoptive parents and him once he finds his powers, no one has any reason to see him as different. He's a lily white, completely normal looking guy who was raised in American since he was a toddler. Hell, iirc he never even remembered Krypton so he had no reason to think he was out of place. Even once he realised he had powers he'd have no reason to think he wasn't some human who's magic or something, until his adoptive parents told him he showed up in a rocket. There are no parallels that could be drawn to a modern immigrant child, aside from maybe him feeling isolated once he realises that he's not human.
Chris does understand that Nuns don't always wear their nun clothes while muslim women wear a hijab all the time right?
Also, nuns don't have a habit of detonating in large crowds of people.Chris does understand that Nuns don't always wear their nun clothes while muslim women wear a hijab all the time right?
That doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter that Christendom at large doesn't force every woman to wear a habit on the street or be flogged. To his woke mind Muslim always equals brown person, so whatever practices they hold are not to be criticized. Granted, he's probably never had to see a woman in a hijab sweating half to death in the summer sun while wrangling her children as her jagoff husband sits around in a shirt and shorts and dicks around on his phone.Chris does understand that Nuns don't always wear their nun clothes while muslim women wear a hijab all the time right?
Honestly I really shouldn't have expected much from the Chipman's because if Chris had that level of understanding, then Bob wouldn't be treated so favorably by him considering how Bob is essentially a very bigoted person. That doesn't matter. what a fucking pig part 2
Wasn't there a X-force series which cyclops put together a black ops team lead by wolverine that went around assassinating/wiping out threats deemed too dangerous/ problematic to let live so they could be rid of the problem without tarnishing the image of the X-Men being good guys or whatever? Granted the bad guys were terrorist, anti-mutant hate groups, and maybe some super villains but I do find it funny that Scott basically had a unaccountable strike team on payroll for destroying any problems that would be too messy for the regular team and is "totally a good guy guys".The X-Men thing is even worse given that the franchise has basically turned into full on supremacist wank, complete with the entire current run/status quo for the X-Men being that a timeline hopping mutant version of a human supporting cast member basically mindraping Xavier to go full Nazi, due to the character finding out in various timelines, that mutants were never the master race Magneto and others thought they were but were just literal freaks of nature and that transhumanism (IE man/machine) is the real next step in human evolution.
Also, the fact that Marvel spent the bulk of the 10s presenting Scott Summers as a literal proto-expy for Richard Spencer before anyone ever knew who Richard Spencer was, complete with SJWs non-ironically pushing the member that "Scott did nothing wrong" due to them being pissy that the big Avengers Vs X-Men storyline of the early 10s had Scott lose to the Avengers, in a storyline where he tried to force a young child soldier to become the new Dark Phoenix so he could have her threaten humanity whenever he felt like it (and not giving a shit that one of the big nightmare timelines for the mutants has Hope killing millions of humans), then gaining the power himself and promptly imprisoning the child soldier and torturing those who would rescue her and nearly destroying the planet out of spite when everyone called him out on how drunk with power he had become.
Normal people: "One of the BLM founders purchased multiple mansions worth several million dollars combined? Seems pretty hypocritical, think of the good she could've done with that money. Maybe she's actually just in it for the payday and doesn't give a shit about her cause anymore, if ever."Never mind the embezzlement; you are just jealous that a sheboon has nice things.

Since Bobby's been sedentary since birth, it's obvious that he doesn't actually think that things like "pride in a hard day's work" exist, and I don't have much else to say beyond that.Bobby's Biology fail doesn't end here.

Oh boy, yet another anime live-action Netflix adaptation that will assuredly be complete trash and an utter disrespect to the source material. I'm not the biggest Gundam superfan, but I know enough about the series to understand that it's generally at least a bit more complex than just "big robot shoot other robot good," at least most of the UC stuff anyway. If you just want big robot fights, you watch G Gundam (which is good, fight me). If you want to make an adaptation that Gundam fans will approve of, you're gonna need to be sure to treat the story with some seriousness. Kong: Skull Island wasn't utter garbage, but it was schlock, and I'm not holding out hope that its director can handle a storied property like Gundam well. You can do just about anything with a giant monkey and make it work for its target audience, but Gundam has 40+ years of history under its belt. The next product to get excited about is... Gundam Movie!

the autistic argument about how whitey of all time benefited from slavery is... uh...That basically sounds like ”what if Moviebob wrote a script based around his political views”.
That is exactly how I feel when I hear the phrases ”interfaith dialogue”, ”Nostra Aetate”, or, more generally speaking, ”Second Vatican Council”. [/tradcath]
What always gets me is how a lot of secular Jews - that is to say, people raised in a religion that follows the Mosaic law - end up pulling shit like this.
That said, globohomo leads Jews into modernism and apostasy as much as it does Christians. Look up ”Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg” or ”Reconstruction Jews” if you want to see atheists larp as God's Chosen™.
What always gets me is how those same antitheists use Christian symbolism and build on the traditions of Christendom as they try and destroy it. Case in point; the anarchists in Catalonia (yes, those same anarchists who destroyed churches and burnt nuns alive) used the song Els Segadors as their anthem, which has lyrics like this;
N'han cremat un sagrat lloc
They [the Spanish] burnt down a sacred place
qui Santa Coloma es deia.
Which was named after Saint Colomba of Sens.
Cremen albes i casulles
They burnt albs and chasubles,
i carpoles i patenes
and corporals and patens.
I el Santíssim Sagrament,
And the Blessed Sacrament
(alabat sia per sempre!)
(may it be praised for eternity!)
Mataren un sacerdot,
They killed a priest,
mentres que la missa deia.
as he celebrated Mass.
Mataren un cavaller
They killed a knight
a la porta de l'esglesia,
at the door of the church,
Don Lluis de Furria
Sir Louis, of Furria,
i els angels li fan grand festa
and the angels held a great party [in his honour].
I wonder why they changed the lyrics.
I never thought a perpetually MATI Chilean would be one of my favourite farmers to read, but here we are.
For all that Blob makes fun of Southerners for eating traditional food from their region, his appetite makes chit'lins look appetizing.

> Religion does not offer any... proof
It's not like 70 people have been miraculously cured at Lourdes or anything, or like St Thomas Aquinas came up with five proofs for God's existence.
A conspiracy theorist has exactly the same worth as an intelligent man with a doctorate (excluding the fact that being a professor doesn't exclude you from conspiracism); we are all equal in the eyes of God.
As always, Bob sees a chance to prove he knows nothing and leaps at it.
What ”actual wars” is Blob talking about, and could he enlighten us as to why the world's biggest religion has stopped existing?
Given that these people's utopian ideas invariably end up looking like Brave New World, I think I'll pass on the utopianism.
So the court of public opinion is the best way to judge people. That sounds a lot like populism, which I thought was doubleplusungood in Blob's mind.
I will gladly pay reparations for slavery when you can explain to me how my ancestors, who were either Irish labourers, Finnish peasants, English peasants or, at best, English landowners in bumfuck Lancashire, ever benefitted from slavery, and when you can show me a single black person alive today in the US or in the Commonwealth who was enslaved by da evul honkies.
I was skimming and thought you were talking about Robert for some reason. Now I want to see Film Robert's JJ Abrams' Superman. Just the black Superman president going around giving illiterate Randian-length speech lectures as he heat visions a bunch of the Mayo Ghouls for two hours and then it ends with that SUPERIOR FUTURE image freeze framed with a force ghost Jor-El (played by Morgan Freeman) giving a thumbs up:He’s going to do the same thing when he writes the script for JJ’s Superman reboot.

Of course that man's question depends on what kind of "institution" he is talking about. If he is referring to political parties, then Bobby is on point: the raison d'etre of political parties is ideology. But he could be referring to academia and school teachers, in which case Bobby is dead wrong. In either case he fails Biology: the mitochondria are what process oxygen to produce chemical energy.
Bobby's Biology fail doesn't end here.

Let's rewind a bit. Shant Mesrobian's comment must have hit a nerve, because it touches upon journos and demos, two sacred institutions of Superior Future. And the follow-up discussion tarred the third sacred institution -- Big Tech -- as well:

I'm fine with that, if you're okay with accepting that a hypothetical fat movie critic from Boston who constantly criticises Catholics and evangelicals but never mentions Islam is also a bigot.
Yeah. The closest parallel to hijab in Christianity is women choosing to wear a veil for Mass, and even then that's a very traditionalist thing to do, something women do of their own free will, and something that a very small amount of Christians do.Chris does understand that Nuns don't always wear their nun clothes while muslim women wear a hijab all the time right?
Speaking as a Britbong, I never saw anyone try and ban the hijab. I only ever saw people try and ban the burka, and even then that didn't gain that much traction. Also, most people don't have a problem with a Hijab, don't be a smooth brain.
I'm surprised that Nerdskull thinks conservatives support absolute free speech and also manages to declare that conservatives are fascists.
Seeing his followers say shit like this is probably Karl Marx's punishment."Money is inherently socialist."
Let's say, hypothetically (no, my last name isn't Shapiro. Why d'you ask?) that Bernie won the election and tried to implement the Green New Deal, and in exchange a coalition of right-wing oligarchs got together and threatened to boycott any states that didn't oppose what Bernie was doing. Do you really think Bob would be in favour of ”free association” in the way he is now?
North Korea is an atheist country that runs on Science™.
I would have absolutely no problem with her doing this if it wasn't with the money she grifted.
> don't blame non bigots for not siding with the party of Jim Crow
First off, talking down to a manual labourer because you know the differences between callouses and blisters and he doesn't is why we say you're an elitist.
Work gloves are not a magical substance that stop you getting blisters.

I couldn't find one more, but I do recall he simped for the idea of Dexter being a good lookin' nerd a couple of times.
The hypocrisy with this bitch is so blatant it's almost jaw dropping. We have her on film describing her and the other co-founders of BLM as "trained Marxists." Yet, here she is buying up pricey real estate. Of course Bob is such a simp for BLM that he won't even acknowledge the contradiction, but the fact that there surely had to be embezzlement involved is something that cannot be ignored.Normal people: "One of the BLM founders purchased multiple mansions worth several million dollars combined? Seems pretty hypocritical, think of the good she could've done with that money. Maybe she's actually just in it for the payday and doesn't give a shit about her cause anymore, if ever."
Bob, the intellectual: "REE YOU JUST HATE WHEN BLACK WOMAN HAS NICE THING YOU RACIST REE"
Of course, this is the man behind tactics and targets, so it's clear that hypocrisy is totally fine to Bob when you're on his side.
Clark Kent/Superman is a good person because he was raised by humble, kind, hard-working, God-fearing ma and pa Kent. It's definitely a case of nurture over nature (as most known Kryptonians outside of the house of El are raging assholes and one of the whole reasons Krypton sploded is because they were too impressed with themselves to believe that they had made a mistake). It's been shown in other continuities like Red Son how a Superman raised by the wrong people for the wrong society could be a nightmare. The Superman thing isn't accurate either though it's common to hear people claim it, kinda like what everyone always says about the X-Men even if the allegory stuff didn't start until Claremont. He's mostly the product of Siegel and Shuster mashing together sci-fi/action series tropes they liked considering previous pitches for the character. The 2nd pitch where he was just some detective who loved fighting kinda morphed into Slam Bradley which I'd recommend googling any of his stories if you want to lose the impression his creators were hyper-progressive. People also like forgetting that they're 2nd generation (unless you count Shuster being from Canada and moving to America when he was like 10)
Hell, Krypton was kind of a non-thing in the golden age despite being in Action Comics #1. The character himself thought he was some hyper-evolved human until 1949 when Kryptonite was introduced and he discovered where it came from. Superman identifying as Kryptonian first is more of a silver age idea which didn't really survive into modern times since it doesn't make sense for him to have that kind of attachment to a place he'd only know from 2nd hand knowledge. "Clark Kent from Kansas" is characterization that has lasted the longest.
