Honestly I'd be ballsy enough to say even very modern stories can eclipse it and that's the scary part. Even guys people make fun of like Dan Slott seemingly have a better grasp of things like tone and everything isn't an extremely campy action-comedy. The MCU is noticeably more cartoony than anything it pulls from which is funny when characters all have those motocross-esque costumes for the sake of realism.

I actually read the Gorr the God Butcher story from the Thor comics, and I know I'm just gonna be annoyed at the new Thor movie because of that, cause there is no way the movie is gonna be as good as that story.

Just FYI, Peter was resurrected not a long timne after and apperantly Ultimate Peter is quite immortal. Not sure how he can eat at Valhalla, but maybe he was an honored guest.
There is this weird and annoying assumption I read a lot that Thor Ragnorak was "better adaptation of Planet Hulk", and that is such a bad take. Planet Hulk was actually interesting story which explored the hulk personality and had interesting, diverse (not in THAT sense) cast of characters which all could be expanded to his own main character. The Hulk which is very hard character to evolve was able to do that organivcally there.
I laughed a lot at Thor Ragnorak, but that was everything there. It was comedy and all characters were reduced to gags.
The Eternals had their shot and blew it Bob. No one cares. They are as gone as the Inhumans.
Also, the smugness there makes me want to punch him in the face. "You didnt like the movie I liked, now you will have to so you can enjoy your characters" is such a shitty attitude and the more the MCU adopts parts of it (like forcing people to watch those horrendous D minus minus shows) the more it accelerates its own failure.

So something that I've noticed from lefty circles, especially in regards to vaccine mandates making people choose their personal autonomy over their job, is this demand to just use the National Guard for everything. Nurses quitting their jobs in droves because they don't want to get jabbed? National Guard! Truck drivers refusing to get jabbed and making the supply chain crisis worse? National Guard! Some random guy at Mickey D's saying "fuck that" to a jab and going home instead? National Guard!
But as you pointed out, the National Guard are reservists who would be yoinked out of their day-to-day lives to fill in for jobs elsewhere. So you're not actually solving the problem, you're just shifting it around. And furthermore, the National Guard is nowhere near as large as Bobby thinks. In the example that the reply gave, there are 8 million truckers out there. Y'know how big the National Guard is? 443,543. So even if you assume that every single one of those are licensed to drive trucks, you've still got a 7.5 million shortfall. And that's before you get into all the other necessary jobs out there.
(Oh, and the Army Corps of Engineers? About 37,000 people.)
This is what anyone with half a brain realized early on in the pandemic: it is simply not feasible in the slightest to enact a nationwide lockdown for any appreciable length of time. Some people could stay home, sure, but there are simply too many "essential" industries that require people to show up to keep things running. And of those that can stay home, how many have enough supplies to ride out the length of the lockdown, especially if it ended up dragging on past those initial two weeks as we saw happen? It just can't be done, so the only rational response is to accept that the virus will spread no matter what you do and focus on staying healthy.
But these are questions that our consummate Thinker has not once pondered, too blinded by rage at the Mayo Ghouls for stealing his Superior Future, so it's no surprise he defaults to some simple-minded retort that he hasn't even bothered to think through. For someone who rails so much against how stupidity is evil, by his own definition, Bob is the most evil fucker around, and too stupid to see that truth.

As someone who leans very far to the green side when it comes to the climate, Don't Look Up is a really bad way of getting our point across about the climate crisis.
People watch films to be entertained, not to be preached to about the need to take "climate action" - which the average person can't do. The most any of us can do is write to our MP's. Anything else, be it giving up meat, not flying or whatever, just won't have any effect.
