When someone says something "looks like" fanfiction, they're making a comparison of the QUALITY (BAD) of a lot of fan fiction out there (My Immortal, or Celebrian (an infamous LoTR-based smut fic), for example lol). Bad writing doesn't bother Bob, though, as long as a media property gives him a big enough dopamine hit.

-Bob thought the writers of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law were making a relevant, important point with the whole "I have to deal with a million 'microaggressions' therefore I'm better at keeping from getting angry than you" thing, because in a later scene She-Hulk apologizes to Hulk.

-Chris didn't think he'd like Top Gun: Maverick, and hadn't seen it for a while but then he did and he LOVED it, because, as Bob said, "Plane go ZOOM, awesome!" If that's not some full-on smooth galaxy lizard-brained shit, I don't know what is.

-Bob says that the makers of LoTR RoP (or is it RiP - Rest in Pepperonis? lol) "did their homework" and he knows because "I KNOW my Tolkien VERY well, thank you very much" and he and Chris agree that it's "very nerdy". Bob also says, "The Harfoots - these are the Irish, right? OK, good, done"
