Oh Hell No! At his Heart Bob is all about Government Dictating what the peons must do and how they must behave. Contrary to what your Gender/Race/Species Outrage Studies Professor might tell you that is pretty much the polar opposite of actual Conservatism. At least until you go far enough along the horseshoe curve that the whacked out Radical Christians start looking remarkably similar to the 3rd wave feminists. At best Bob might lightly almost barely brush up against the Rockefeller Republicans on a few mainly harmless domestic issues.

Simple answer? He was costing someone a lot of money, and it was felt it was time to just sort of move him out. Add to that there was a worrying pit bull of a celebrity journalist on the case that had actually grown up being abused by Hollywood types and had a history of not playing by the normal rules. They lost control of Ronan Farrow when he went after Woody Allen. He got slammed, shamed and faced the industry music for that. But they had nothing left to use against him. So they attempted to cut the story off by leaking a less salacious version to the NYT and move old no longer producing Harvey under the bus and into retirement. It didn't go as planned. The whole thing blew up in their faces, which is why they are desperate to get it out of the news cycle. After all people are starting to ask about the Pedophiles! They can't have THAT!

I think at absolute best you could argue that Bob's a neocon since that's essentially what Hillary Clinton is and we know how hard he shilled for her.
