I've always been of the opinion an honest artist (writer, illustrator, musician, whatever) creates to please himself first. But "please yourself first and do everything you can to piss in the faces of fans who annoy you" strikes me as somewhat, shall we say, self-defeating. If not downright exceptional.
Except Bob is not an artist. He’s just fat.

That "Fangirl Jeanne" person is basically a female Bob if Bob were also a brony: everything is representation, queer and nonbinary. Thor: Ragnarok is deeper than meets the eye (yet I see no depth in her review, only endless stale meme gifs). She will get a film review gig at Everyday Feminism if she applies though. Take for example, this tiny excerpt from her essay-length "review" of Moana:

Back to Bobby. I'm sure there are several layers of stupidity in this spiel, but I leave it to our comic book experts.

Just replace the"r" with a "u" and you have Bob.

Judging by Bob's cultural obsessions, the Superior Future is going to make Idiocracy look like Plato's Republic.

That also begs a reminder that Bob's ideas are always designed to please him and him alone at the expense of the fans, so you have these ideas that are essentially Bob pissing in the faces of fans and him expecting to be unconditionally praised for it.

You say that but then you have people in the comments praising his ideas proving there are people truly stupider than Bob.

I don't know why he's bringing up Dick Grayson when it's already confirmed he exists in the DCEU and is already Nightwing after his falling out with Batman. That along with Jason's death is why he's nutty in that movie. Why can't Bob keep up with popcorn flick plots? Not just any popcorn flick, one that he's spent a whole year shitting on and was so angry about it he found the time to make a 3 hour long video trying to pull it apart. How is it that hard to follow with that much effort put into it?

Exactly how bad is Bob's reading/listening comprehension skills?

Well to put it another way: if not even you want to view your art, why would anyone else want to? Unfortunately that's the problem with a lot of creators nowadays. They study creating itself and become so self-obsessed "entertaining to them" just becomes "disappearing up their own assholes." So they make crap that only appeals to other auteurs who have disappeared up their own assholes but nobody wants to actually see. When you create, you need to make sure you get outside, experience the real world, and reconnect with actual people and remember what they like. Otherwise you make... videos of a green screen version of yourself failing a chess.

Oh thank you, I was about to go risk a viewing and you've saved me some screwed up recommendations.

Ok fine! *reads* So like... Bob doesn't grasp that the DCEU started "in medias res"? I thought he was supposed to know film. But there he is, making fun of a film universe for trying to use a conventional style of storytelling. Heck a style of storytelling arthouse films LOVE to use. Bob needs to start spelling his name as "movie*bob" - "*may not know much about actual movies"

I still question how the fuck does people call Ragnarok great. Despite the countless flaws the movie has in its narrative, questionable decisions, and very unnecessary humor at times. Then again moviebob hates any film that dares to go into a grey areas. So that should tell you.

I really want JL to be good, or at least fairly received to spite Chipman since this bullshit clearly shows he can't remain neutral to anything, or at least go with a open mind.

He's a no effort hipster. His tastes are as basic as they come and he acts like it's all deep obscure shit nobody else understands.

He's even worse than a hipster because he tells you he loved something before it was cool when you had already lost interest in whatever it was long before this fat cocksucker even heard of it.

So like someone who acts like a hipster about Pokemon or some other dumb thing spawned from the 1990s when it has existed for over 1/5th of a century already? The eternal :late:
