I think it's pure envy. RLM is funnier, sharper, better-respected, and -- especially with Jay and Mike -- clearly know a hell of a lot more about the art and craft of filmmaking. Looking into it, it looks like it's farmers complaining about Wendy's exploiting tomato farmers. That's right, Bob Chipman is complaining about small farmers in the midwest getting fucked over by a mega-corporation. Doesn't he realize they are probably Trump voters, and rightfully belong in the woodchipper? Or is he just virtue signalling about a topic that he doesn't care about and hasn't researched?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Bob Chipman. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer’s head. There’s also Bob’s Superior outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Shigeru Miyamoto literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Bob Chipman truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the wisdom in Bob’s existential catchphrase “Eradicate the working class, rule the planet as gods!” which itself is a cryptic reference to Clinton’s Democrat epic What Happened. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Joss Whedon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their movie screens. What fools.. how I pity them.
