Can we talk for a minute about how much of a big dick, gigachad move that is on DeSantis' part? Love him or hate him, fucker is really about two steps away from telling Disney. *DISNEY* to pack up and get the fuck out of his state.

I know Disney has fallen pretty far, but most normies don't. That's still a major tourist draw. And DeSantis doesn't give one. As well he shouldn't, frankly, Disneyworld sucks ass, and always has. Universal and Busch Gardens are way better for anyone who likes rides, and Seaworld is better for pussies.
The meltdown from Disney shills would be glorious.

Speaking of Diabeto and the Efappers, I remember when they covered his Joker vid, Bob mentioned that he thought Joker was stupid because it has no theme (not sure how impaired you have to be to believe that), but also that it shamelessly apes Taxi Driver and King of Comedy.

I've recently been on a kick of trying to watch as many movies that are considered great as I can (any suggestions are appreciated), and I just caught Taxi Driver a week or two ago (haven't seen King of Comedy). They are very similar movies, and I can understand if someone just felt that Joker was derivative and didn't care for it.

But the fact that it's Moviebob, who is endlessly consooming the factory produced, assembly line slop that the MCU keeps pushing out is so hypocritical that it blows my fucking mind.
Myself? Recently it's been Rear Window, and I also plan on rewatching The Manchurian Candidate.

Maybe he just did! (CNN article).

What DeSantis should do next would be to high-profile arrest a bunch of Disney pedos.
That guy asked a reasonable question about Disney's special status and Bob derailed it into a ramble about "private security" which he seems to think should not be allowed for the proles.

But here's the thing, Disney's deal with Florida is that they actually own the "improvement district" which is effectively a municipality. Disney does not have its own police force, it contracts out to the county, but it can if it wanted to. It did operate the fire department for a while, I don't know if that's still the case. Disney also owns literally every building including the houses for employees who live in the district. There's no real elections, there's no real municipal boards or other things, it's all Disney. And it gets a special tax status. DeSantis and the Florida Republicans were widely mocked when they wrote in an exemption for Disney to their "anti-Big Tech" law last year or whenever.

The common examples of modern company towns are those small ones in California (most famously Bell and Vernon) where they're so geographically small (Vernon is literally 5 square miles surrounded by Los Angeles) that all that's in it are industrial districts and city employee's houses, which then elects everyone to the various positions who then always favor the companies and government. But Disney's situation in Florida is a literal company town, it's owned by Disney, they have all government powers. If someone were to somehow buy a house in Disney's territory they can evict the person and claim the property for themselves.

In any case, Disney also maintains a massive private security force, but to arrest someone they have to contact the county police, they just don't have to except that they contracted it out already. (There used to be rumors that this was part of the unspoken deal with Florida, that it would go too far to allow them to operate a police force, but I figure Disney could get away with it these days.) It's not hard to find out about this, but Bob continues to display how he can't even Wiki things: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reedy_Creek_Improvement_District

edit: Also worth noting, Disney pursued this deal with Florida (and IIRC it's why World was built in Florida) because Disneyland couldn't expand due to local governments, it was boxed in by municipalities in California and Disney couldn't convince anyone there to allow them to take them over or get a similar special status.

You can tell someone got Bob really good with an insult when all he can retort with is his "You're not a person!" shtick.
There's two aspects of his favorite insult that always make me laugh.

If any of you remember this incident, this is former ESPN reporter Britt McHenry. Here's a refresher:

So this bitch had her car towed. When she showed up, she tried to big time her way out of the situation. She picks on the place, insults the girl working the desk, and plays up how intelligent and sophisticated she is. She has all of Bob's shitty attitude by doesn't look The Michelin Man with corrective eyewear.

It's not just that it's reminiscent of Bob that makes me laugh, nor is that in real life, nobody sided with Britt McHenry. Similarly, only the most degenerate castaways side with Bob.

I just love the angle that If I'm in the NBA and Michael Jordan dunks over me from the free throw line, it stings but I'll get over it. I just got whooped by the greatest player in the game. What really hurts is being embarrassed by some short, walk on, garbage time player that flunked out from the Art Institute of Southern Maine.

Bob puffs up how bright and meaningful he is every half hour, and thinks he's reinforcing this by confirming HE GETS DUNKED ON BY NOBODIES 15 times a day.

Nice try friendos, but Bob is not hiding behind a block from Random Anime Avatar who dunked on him, he's simply not listening to those who are Not A Person. He does not have the time to deal with this harassment from his Workstation as time is money for Bob and while he was dealing with the Not A Person he missed ten a hundred six thousand important tweets from Chu and Luke.

edit: @Grumpy Pickle Rick, you are not a person. 👋

Bob really acts like he had a hard life thanks to the mayo ghouls, how delusional he is. Also nice dehumanization Robert, surely that eugenics tweet is still just a joke

Okay, fine, but what qualifies as "teach sex"? This is something that, no joke, really does need specifics or it's going to risk invoking legal wrath pretty quick.
You can't allot resources or time to teaching what being LGBTQ is in the actual lesson plan. You can't handout worksheets asking them about gender identity or have someone promote gay lifestyle shit (i.e. drag queen storytime or some fag coming in for some other event). The bill about kindergarten through 3rd grade kids, why the fuck do those kids need to learn anything other than basic phonics, basic math (counting, addition, subtraction), and maybe some basic history. The bill doesn't stop a kid from asking why Mrs. Robovich doesn't have a husband. The woman can answer, but she can't tell the kid you also might be gay.

The bill is mostly a lot of parents getting angry with teachers being overly familiar with kids. You have cases in California where gay clubs will basically act like Scientologists. The Florida one is an anti-grooming bill. I don't think most kids actually see teachers as people until a certain age. The entire thing is basically trying to make kids sexual or capable of making these declarations about identity when DeSantis and Florida say let kids fingerpaint and eat boogers, they're dumb children who literally don't understand any of this.

Also good movie that's kind of related in the opposite direction.

Man, Hitchcock is great. I remember when I was in high school we did a unit where we listened to and watched a bunch of old horror and mystery movies and radioplays. I loved Rear Window, I also really fondly remember Rope, though I haven't re-watched it since.

Manchurian Candidate is one I'll have to put on the list, seeing as I use the term enough that I should probably see the film at some point.

I'm nearing forty and I've always hated disney. My four year old brain acknowledged how unfunny the legacy of mickey and co. cartoons are. IE: Disney Comedy- Donald Duck rolls down a hill and becomes a snowman. Huey, Dewey, Louis laugh at him.
Looney Tunes Comedy- Elmer Fudd blasts Daffy at shotgun range and his bill spins around.

I've seen Rope at least twice. I've listened to a few of the Hitchcock radio plays too, like Shadow of a Doubt. The Manchurian Candidate is one I really like, it's pretty influential in spy movies too.

Watched it recently, it really holds up. And I always think that Meryl Streep sucked up Hillary's vibe during it and is probably ashamed.

TL;DW: The first half is all about Bob bitching about the DCEU, sorta focused on how Zack Snyder won "Fan Favorite" in a twitter poll hosted by the Oscars. The second half is Bob bitching about the current CEO of Disney trying to pussyfoot around the current LGBT stink caused by the newer Disney movies, Disney shows, and Florida's "Don't Say Gay" Bill. The main reasoning why is that Disney had donated money to senators that supported previously said Bill.

Surprising Mr. Chipman had very little to say in regards to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, almost contrarily so.
MovieBob: "Right-wingers have no spending power and are all poor white trash rednecks. Liberal America is where the money is."

Also Bob: "Trump supporters are all rich privileged suburbanites who own boat dealerships and never have to deal with any real hardship other than having Applebee's shut down."

Kinda reminds me of the typical fascist trait where they perceive their enemies as being both strong and weak depending on what's most rhetorically effective at the time. Like how to the Nazis, Jews were both an all-powerful group that controlled the banks and other important industries, but also were weak, pathetic and cowardly vermin who could be easily pushed aside.

In what way has a Trump supporter personally impacted Bob's life in any appreciable way? Could he be referring to his old boss at the public access network who he got fired by because he trashed The Passion Of The Christ (from what I recall, his boss took offense to that because he was a devout Christian and Bob claimed that he had a gun on him during a confrontation in his van IIRC)?

I see. Again, as long as it's pretty specific, I don't see a problem. K-3 IS too early, but I don 't consider this "anti grooming" so much as "Just keep it age appropro".

To add on to that, while you're correct that Walt was running out of room in California for his ambitions, the Reedy Creek Improvement District wasn't originally meant to be solely used for Disney World. It was where Walt was going to build the original EPCOT, his planned city of the future where he'd micromanage every aspect of his employees' lives and they'd love him for it. To be able to build it without bureaucracy getting in the way, he bought up tons of land in secret through intermediaries, merged all those holdings together, and successfully petitioned the Florida government to create the RCID. In the plans, he assuaged his board of directors with a theme park on the far corner of the lot to act as a tourist draw, though Walt felt that the city itself was the real spectacle and would force visitors to travel through it to get to the Magic Kingdom. Then he died of lung cancer (damn those healthy cigarettes!), the board said "hell no we're not building a fucking city, we're an entertainment company," and Disney World was built instead, starting with the Magic Kingdom in its initially planned position. Probably better for the company in the long run, but it remains a great "what if" to think about.

I'm not sure how much impact repealing the law that created the district would have on WDW's activities. It might make park construction a bit more tedious since they'd probably be subject to obtaining permits from the county for work they want to do. But really, at this point, I don't think there's really a good argument to be made for Disney continuing to have a giant chunk of land in the middle of Florida that they can do more or less whatever they want with. I can't even think of another modern equivalent, that's how rare this arrangement is.

You'd think that Bob would know all of this, considering how EPCOT is a wet dream of his, but I guess that's asking too much of the smoothbrain.
