This is one of those moment when I'm torn.

Try and get anything concrete out of them and you realize all they have are vague notions of how things should be, very rarely any actual real idea on how to accomplish it (exceptions I have come across are duly noted, saluted, and remembered).

Bob was happy because videogames were childish at the time, and he could watch the terrible Nintendo shows on TV like Captain N (which he has cosplayed as) and feel like he was in the majority.

Bob liked this show well enough to cosplay as the main character and I will never believe he was doing it ironically.

Of course, Bob got furious when Sega started competing with Nintendo by being edgy and aiming at an older teenage audience than Nintendo. And he hates Sonic because the Sonic commercials mocked the Mario games and made him feel inferior. Sega was actually competitive with Nintendo, and I'd argue that in the United States, the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were very competitive with neither really winning. Bob sometimes reminds me of a no-joke, genuinely brain damaged personal lolcow of mine. Utterly incompetent writer, so personally offensive he was banned from Wattpad (when they still had forums to ban people from).

I mean you've got Matt Taibbi (a liberal who's theoretically on the same side as these people) writing articles about a Feminist Group (yay!) that is taking on the California Prison System (yay!) for... allowing Trans Women with penises in the general prison population of women's prisons even though they are not taking hormones and are doing pretty much what you'd expect male criminals put in a women's prison to do.
