I'll admit that I prefer Batman to be less heavily armored, but given that in this movie he'll be dealing with Darkseid's forces (i.e. powerful aliens from another planet) it makes sense for him to have some extra protection.

The armor looks alright I prefer the lighter kit but the franchise is going for Dark knight returns older batman fighting demi-gods. So him playing hard ball in spandex is absurd when Darkseid or Zod shows up. Once again Bob can't help but knit pick over asinine bullshit because he resents the overall thematic direction. The whole point of Batman is actually that he is NOT a "superhero" in the traditional sense and has no superpowers other than actually being an extraordinary human who is incredibly resourceful and relies on intelligently designed devices and psychology.
